I'm an easily entertained person. "Attack of the Clones" was one of the few movies I've ever seen that felt like a waste of time the first time I watched it. (Why the Hell is there a scene in a 50's diner? Seriously, why?)

I think he's saying the Nazis only disapproved of Communism because they didn't think it was actually going to achieve its stated goals, rather than having any problems with those goals per se.

He had promised to boycott CPAC because they excluded GOProud, but they had a falling out over the practice of "outing" closeted gays in the political sphere.

Yes, because in your warped little mind, conservatives aren't allowed to enjoy themselves. Ever.

Well, my opinion of Han was probably colored by the fact that my first exposure to Star Wars was when I walked in on somebody watching Return of the Jedi on VHS (or maybe it was being broadcast on TV). Thus, the Han I knew was the one from the second half of the third film, when he's at his least ambiguous. When you know he's going to eventually become the relatively clean-cut General Solo, it affects the way you see him in the first movie, especially if you're five or six years old (I wasn't exactly familiar with the concept of a character arc).

Uh, no. It wasn't clear. Not to me, anyway.

As a kid, I always was wondering what the heck had just happened after that scene. I eventually concluded that Greedo's blaster had malfunctioned and blown up in his face when he tried to shoot Han. The fact that Han shot Greedo at all never even entered my mind (after all, Han had already been established as a good guy, and the bartender had clearly said, "no blasters"). And no, I'm not kidding---that is what I really thought.

Also, I never heard anybody talk about that scene until after Lucas made his changes, which leads me to think that it wasn't nearly as iconic in the original as people make it out to be.

That won't happen unless the snack food industry decides to donate oodles of money to whoever wins the GOP nomination.

Are you serious? What the heck does Mormonism have to do with anything?

Sheesh.... I know there are a lot of people who really hate that show (mostly people who still think Thomas Malthus' ideas about overpopulation are valid), but that's a little ridiculous.

The Left won't accept any of this until they figure out how global cooling can be construed as a problem that can only be solved by massive government intervention. (Because problems aren't worth solving unless the solution is Big Government.)
