I love you guys too. I was wondering if I could borrow Orison for awhile. He seems to have such an enormous heart and a real tenderness about him that I'd love to have him here to interpret our love and sorrow about my dad in his own special way. Or at the very least he could teach me how to kiss the sky.

Thank you Scott. It's hard to paint a complete picture of him but I think the picture of him engaged in very animated conversation with my (then 1 year old) daughter does a great job summing him up.

Like I said to my wife this week - as crappy as the experience has been (at times), it's been so remarkable I don't even know the right word to describe it. Very good point. Original creation was not static or else there would be no reason for God's command in Genesis 1:28 ("Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it."). But the element that wasn't present in Eden (which is hidden now, post-Fall) is the hidden nature of God's glory. So I don't think we'll be omnipotent nor omnipresent in eternity and thus will still experience some sort of "passage of time". What will be amazing (one of the infinite things that will be amazing) is that one day the veil will be fully pulled back (to use Paul's words) and the full radiance of God's glory will shine through everything. Given how truly amazing even the tiniest tastes of that glory that are currently hidden in creation are, I for one am excited for when that day arrives. Thanks for your thoughts!

Thanks, that's good to hear. I'm one of those who've had to learn financial responsibility later in life (thank you Dave Ramsey) so it's really important that my kids have both the right attitude toward money and be able to manage their money.
