Madonna has been an international superstar in pop music for thirty years. Comparing her to the Rolling Stones is perfectly appropriate. They have twenty more years on her but no more influence on the culture and arguably less. I'm not a big fan of Madonna, but it's silly to deny the enormity of her career.

The ending of the Ferris Bueller commercial makes no sense. When he told us to leave the cinema back in 1986, it worked because the stragglers were supposed to leave. But if you're watching a commercial, you're not supposed to leave. You're supposed to stick around. Instead, he should have said something like "Where are you going? Thank you for revealing this. I've been a big comic fan since the 1970s, and I know the industry has always leaned left, but in recent years, particularly the last decade, it has gotten downright dreary with the same small group of Leftwing softboys writing most of the books. You can't even pick up a book like Captain America without it reading like a Chomsky thesis. I used to spend anywhere from $20-$50 each week, but I got fed up with it a few years back and stopped almost entirely.
