Given the success of Speak Now already though, I will not be surprised to see her name listed next among the nominees. That being said, I'm pretty pleased with all the others. For the most part, I'd say it was a good selection of people and songs. My only issue actually comes from the Gretchen Wilson and LeAnn Rimes nominations. I don't hate either of the them, but I've never once heard those songs on the radio, and I never got the impression that they were particularly successful. And if the voters are going for "left field" choices, I feel like there were better to choose from. But I'm more excited about David Nail's song "Turning Home" getting a nomination more than anything else. However, not all of Taylor's songs have been remixed. "Teardrops On My Guitar" and "Love Story" are the only songs with official pop remixes that were released to the radio, and truthfully, I've heard the original versions more than those anyway. As much as I like traditional country, and being able to differentiate country from pop, I also like that Taylor makes music that appeals to both sides. Plus, "Mine" is a nice song.
