Thank you Kitty. Completely missed that. I hope they do carry out those changes and don't change them. Sadly I recall in the 2010 master bathroom where a nice built in bench was shown in the shower and they decided to build a cheesy stand alone bench. There was also supposed to be two closets in the master bedroom and I believe a built in dresser and they ended up having only one closet and put shelves where the built in dresser was to go. Some of those things they changed were things that the voters had voted on too. So guess we will have to wait and see what they actually do.

Kitty,
Perhaps I missed something somewhere and hope you can fill me in...where did you read/see/hear that DIY and Knickerbocker has widened the bathroom doors and made the shower accessible for physically challenged people that has lead you to believe this information? It would be wonderful if they did do that however I will be shocked if that is really the case since year after year any requests like that are "overlooked." (I've learned things can not be assumed when it comes to the BC's...i.e. a BC with no AC)

What is more odd than that is DIY still calling these homes "cabins"! LOL

There are lots of people voting who do not blog or even read the blog.

You're not alone. When the BC first started out it was fun and exciting beyond belief. Bloggers input was listened to and valued. The voters were given things to vote on that actually made an impact on the house; from picking the floor plan to making great suggestions for improvement on something and the builder making those changes. Not just picking paint colors or what candy dish or towels to put in the bathroom. This is an excerpt from that article about the BC that was in the Boothbay Register, "Online voting on specific design aspects begins in January and extends for six weeks. Tuttle, who has been working with a Blog Cabin interior designer, explains that viewers’ choices will be limited to finish
options that won’t impede construction progress." Can't get much clearer than that.

Happy New Year to you too Kitty. That is only my personal view.... I personally just found it strange that Malcom came to that conclusion all on his own, that's all. There are many people out there that don't know about DIY and/or the BC,(I know, hard to believe huh?lol) and I got the distinct impression he was one of them. That's why I find it hard to believe he thought that all by himself.

Hopefully he will read some of the posts and see for himself that the bloggers are a very passionate group of people who give of their time and show a great interest in the Blog Cabin projects. Hopefully DIY will not forget or lose sight of the "You Design" feature because that is what makes the Blog Cabin so special and sets it apart from other contests.

Just remember this.........The ONLY words that should be of any importance to the bloggers are, "You Are The Winner!!" :)

Reading between the lines....Note the part that says, "Apparently" and especially the part that says, "They warned us" in this part of the article. “The crazies haven’t really come out yet,” said Malcom, “but as we get closer and closer to the time they are going to give it away, apparently people drive from all over the country … They warned us that it’s going to be nuts with all these people driving in and out and expecting to look through the place.”

Gee, now I wonder where Malcom could have gotten the impression that the bloggers were "crazies" and "cyberstalkers". Hmmm, now who put those ideas into his head?? LOL Don't let it bother you though...that's probably how we are listed in the DIY/HGTV dictionary/terminology book they hand out to all potential builders etc. :)

Not sure if this has been posted or if you can even read it, but it's an article about the BC that was in the Boothbay Register. Hopefully you have a magnifying glass. :) http://www.knickerbockergroup.com/wp-content/uplo...

Clearly I have missed bits of info by not keeping up with the blog daily like I used to. Hopefully that will change when they post the floor plans. (which I hope will be very soon) :) Thanks for the info. :)
