JakeBouma.com : Why the Bible Mustn't be Read at Face Value: A Response to Justin Wise

Straw man in the sense that you're not writing to address my post. At least not specifically. As you said yourself, "I probably read too much into your post." I would agree with your assessment. This is a paradox, for sure. Jesus is simple, but he's complex. Living out the Gospel, as you have wisely noted, takes a lifetime and, coincidentally, a lot of work. Understanding who Jesus is must, unequivocally, be simple. Otherwise the Gospel loses.

ChurchCrunch : Changing Your Voice - Missional Social Media

Brilliant post, Vince. I'm excited to see where this new effort leads you. If we're going to be serious about reaching a digital mission field, we should probably be familiar with the way that culture works. Love your commitment! Well done.

ChurchCrunch : Did Jesus Have an Affiliate Program? Do You?

About the only affiliate program that I use is for Amazon. It's easy because you can use it for links you'd publish anyway. Outside of that, the basis for an affiliate program is commerce. I think you need to be selling a product in order to have an affiliate program. I don't see a whole lot of Christian bloggers selling anything besides a book here and there. What about this: What about a ChurchCrunch affiliate program? I'd be in. You sell themes, why not give 10-20% of the sale price of your themes to affiliates? I'd be in. Just an idea, my bro. Pioneer ... Pioneer away!

ChurchCrunch : How Is Your Blog Making Money (and How Much)?

Right now it's behind the scenes, but I'm thinking about bringing it into the light. Of course, one could go to my sponsors page: http://bedeviant.com/sponsors And then look at my sidebar and see how many ads are filled. Do some simple math and you have how much we pull in at BeDeviant.com.

ChurchCrunch : How Is Your Blog Making Money (and How Much)?

Gary V's "Crush It" has given me a whole new perspective on monetizing. I like how you're leading and pioneering the "openness" movement amongst Christians. It seems the Christian community has always been skittish around making a profit ... Probably because of a misunderstanding of Jesus' words regarding the topic. That's my guess, anyway. I make money on my blog and want to monetize in more ways in 2010. In the same way that authors write from passion as well as a need to make a living, I write with the same energy. I don't know how (or why) anyone could disagree with that. Good question, dude.

Thoughts About Nothing : Dinner Conversations

That's a great question. . . I met Scott McClellan (COLLIDE editor) over the Cultivate/STORY weekend and I was blown away by how awesome he was. He was also way taller than I thought he would be. I'm a tall guy (6'4") and he was taller than me! Coincidentally, most of the people I met during that same weekend said that had no idea how tall I was. I thought that was fun.

Human3rror : Thank You Pneumonia for My New Diet for the Week

This is purely anecdotal, but perhaps it may help your ailing bod. Once, in college, I had pneumonia and had to get better before finals. So I drank 12 regular size bottles of water and two 32 oz. bottles of Gatorade in day. I woke up the next morning completely fine. No pneumonia. No sickness. No nothing. FWIW!
