This topic was so interesting I had to do a video response to it on my You Tube page.

In my opinion, I don't like a woman playing games or having a specific time period for me to wait especially if Moe, Larry, and Curly hit it on the first night. I think it should all just happen naturally. I don't think any less of a woman if she has sex on date one, but I do acknowledge the benefits of a woman taking time to at least know the name of the man she is laying up with. LOL!

I agree with you and I understand a director making an artistic decision....but when black people are placed in these extremely sick scenarios on film it confirms and reinforces the negative perception that people around the world have about Black Americans....that we are more dysfunctional than everyone else.

If you had said "sexual abuse isn't discussed enough in the black community and we don't talk about it enough" 20-30 years ago, I would have fully agreed with you...but the last several years our cup runneth over with this subject. Here are a few examples:

1. Karinne Steffans was molested. She wrote about it and talked about it in interviews
2. Oprah was molested by relatives and she has discussed this many times on her shows and did many shows on the subject.
3. Not only was Tyler Perry molested and spoke publicly about it, but several of his plays and/or films have dealt with sexual abuse in some form or fashion.
4. Missy Elliot talked about being abused sexually in her recent Behind the Music episode.
5. Mary J. Blige talked about being abused sexually in her recent Behind the Music episode.
6. Don Lemon publicly talked about being molested as a child.
7. The whole Eddie Long scandal sparked many discussions on the subject of sexual abuse.
8. Actor Todd Bridges spoke of being molested and wrote about it in his memoirs.
9. The movie Precious deals with sexual abuse and it's effects.
10. Many popular "Urban Novels" deal with rape and sexual abuse in the story line.

...and these are just a few off the top of my head. This subject IS being discussed by African Americans (as it should be). The problem, however, with this short film is this: The director didn't make this film to address sexual abuse in the black community. The film is a work of ART that he is using to further his career in the entertainment industry. In his interview, he said that this is comedy and satire. I just wish he had used white people and left us out of this type of movie, that's all.

I went online and saw the trailer and as of right now, that's enough for me. I don't know if I want to actually watch it. Yes, it looks like a well produced short film but the premise of the story seems to be deliberately sick and perverted for shock value purposes.

I might watch it because I am interested to see what it's really like, but it seems like the concept is too sick to me.

My biggest problem with the concept is...WHY did this filmmaker choose a black family to tell this story? Why did the characters have to be black?

All Shaunie has to do is tell the production staff to edit out the fight scenes and only show the charity work. We ALL know she's not going to do THAT! LOL!

Jia, you should finish your book. You are sitting on a gold mine. You already have a following and you have the "gift of gab" to go on talk shows and promote it.

And when you get the big dollars and start giving out cars like Oprah, I would like a mercedes benz (preferably black). I'll pay for the spinning rims myself, thanks.

What a coincidence...I used to run home after school everyday to see the next episode of Star Blazers. I had no idea they were doing a live version of this. Much to my surprise, the scenes look pretty good. Maybe they will create a dubbed version or a version with subtitles.

I think the dancing was insane...the best I've seen in a while for a recording artist. I don't even think Janet (in her hey day) could have done these moves. My only complaint is the daisy dukes. I like Ciara's body (and I wouldn't kick her out of bed for eating crackers) BUT since she is so lean (skinny), I would rather see her in a skin tight body suit for the whole video. Daisy Dukes are for thicker curvier women like a Nicki Minaj or Beyonce. Just my two cents, but I give it the thumbs up.

The first time Toni filed bankruptcy, I was willing to give her a pass because she said she didn't fully understand the business side of things. Record companies, managers, and agents have contracts that give them the upper hand over the artists.

However....Toni is older, wiser (supposedly) and has more experience in the business. She should have learned from the first bankruptcy!!!!!! She was supposed to make better decisions. She has made plenty of money off of being on Broadway, and Vegas and a bunch of other projects.

She is obviously SPENDING TOO MUCH MONEY trying to live like Oprah or Beyonce, when she needs to SAVE HER MONEY and have a normal lifestyle that is within her means.

Unless she can get a job like being a judge on American Idol or something like that, the days of her having money to burn are over.
