All the rhetorical comments aside, there are some assumptions being made that are fundamentally wrong. The biggest one being that the marginal tax rate is actually being paid, it isn't. The loopholes in the system for those who can afford to exploit them are numerous. It is really no surprise when a full 60 percent of the Senate and HOR are millionaires. Read this gentlemans articles in Forbes, he makes alot of sense to me, and many others.
