It seems like every day we hear more and more about people reigning in Lucas during the production of the original trilogy... and then the wonderful (But not without flaws) Expanded Universe that was once just canon. It was a wonderful thing. You could find a character from a comic book story in a novel, and characters from novels in video games, and then video games referenced in the novels...
