+1000 stamperzann.

I mean seriously... training from the FDA? Really? THAT is what is going to stop this problem? Ummm, no.

The government needs to go back to what it's really supposed to do... govern. Not babysit. Adults are adults, and will make their own choices.

"A recent study by the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation found that between 2006 and 2010, the use of emergency rooms for non-emergency reasons fell nearly 4 percent."

4 percent eh? Wouldn't that be classified as statistically insignificant in science?
(meaning this 4 percent couldn't directly be attributed to the health law, as there are a number of variables that could have accounted for such a low percentage change)

The laws themselves ARE NOT what save lives... the helmets are what save lives. We don't need more regulation to save lives.

Please tell me why this made news?

Especially this part: "'The FDA took a major step backwards today and as a result, more consumers will likely get burned this summer,' said Sen. Jack Reed, D-R.I."

Seriously? We can't take care of ourselves because the government didn't do something? Come on now... I think we'll be alright there big G. :)

1100, out of over 6 million people in the state. Let's assume they've missed some, so let's say 5000 may have caught this ... that's not even 1/10th of 1 percent.

Why the panic again? I get it, if infants get it... it's not a good thing, but the odds are still slim.

I'm more concerned with why they wouldn't publish the findings... seemed like they might be hiding something. I'm looking forward to seeing what is published.

Ok, since I've seen no reported cases of "bat flu" in humans, anywhere... logic would tell me to tell the scientists NOT to "grow it" and see if it spreads.

Why mess with something that hasn't affected us yet?

BP needs to quit whining, to my knowledge they still have their own "payments" to make for the largest ecological disaster known in our history.

Amen jkesb... it sounds as though you are well-educated in the medical field (meant as a compliment).

But...testing to me doesn't sound like it addresses the underlying problem, which is some kids are eating unhealthy and not exercising enough. I'm sure there are medical conditions that can cause problems as well, but I can't imagine those being the majority at all with children (unless there is ANOTHER underlying cause in the food supply itself).

I'm sorry, but isn't there just something terribly wrong with this statistic?

1 in 5 adults (20%) couldn't possible ALL be actually needing these drugs. It just seems too hard to believe.
