So many brothers and sisters forget that it's not our place to preach condemnation, rather FORGIVENESS, i.e. the Blood of Christ.

Personally, I think many of them love harping on sin because it makes them feel superior. Of course, they also forget they're no better than anybody else on this planet.

Agreed.

What the smug nerd who wrote that article fails to realize is that, unlike Lucas, Spielberg and Scott give us OPTIONS with their re-releases of E.T., Close Encounters, and Blade Runner. We can see the edited versions of those films if we choose, or we can go out and purchase the original theatrical releases.
If Lucas did this, there'd be virtually no complaints.

Lucas stubbornly refuses to fully satisfy consumer wants. Fine. I'll stick with the crappy Laserdisc transfers on the limited edition DVDs. Better than nothing. In the meantime though, George won't see another damn dime from me until he wises up.

And Noah was a drunk, Isaiah was a trash mouth, Jonah ran from God, Abraham and Sarah doubted God, Solomon was an occultist, Samson was an adulterer, and of course the reason King David killed the dude was to cover up his adultery.

Yeah, these are God's best and brightest. If they can't measure up, how can we? Well, that's why we have Jesus Christ. He didn't go to the cross for fun after all.

So yeah, if Che and Jane wind up in heaven, it's ONLY because they accepted Jesus at one point in their life. Nothing else matters.

The saddest thing about all this is that heaven is going to be filled with drug dealers, gang-bangers, perverts, freaks, sickos, murderers, thieves, criminals, and otherwise unsavory types who KNEW they were no damn good and, therefore, NEEDED Jesus, and called on Him for salvation.

Hell is going to have a lot of self-righteous, holier-than-thou religious types wondering what just happened.

Yeah, what can you do? The media loves its sensationalism. It is what sells after all.

I just tune it out for the most part.

As long as you're stocked and supplied for emergencies, you're good to go. No need to go into bunker mentality, but a little preparation goes a long way. Also, as far as violent flash mobs, that shouldn't be anything Mr. SIG or Mr. XD can't handle.
