You make a good argument. However, I don't think people will buy it. RomneyCare is exactly like ObamaCare in that it punishes people for NOT buying a product from a private company at the behest of the government. The "state only" argument you make (although well reasoned) is just an excuse in my opinion to try and make Romney saleable to the public at large. I don't think it will work. Socialism is as socialism does. Romney did it on the state level. He can't take back what he unleashed. One other point: Romney Care is in the hole for millions. It is his program. Doesn't really help his "I'm Mr. Fiscal" persona.

I just don't think this rises to the category of "pitchforks". I took the same tone about the race baiting the right did over the FOX News crew story linked above. Aue's post comes closest to pointing out Ms. Wallace's racism. However, she clearly did say students from Asia, not Asian students. A distinction without a difference perhaps, but still a distinction. She does come very close to going over the line by emphasizing "AMERICAN" so often. Great point Aue. My fear with all of this is that we are heading down a road of crazy PC-ness. If you don't like her dumb videos don't watch them. I maintain free speech means free in most cases including this one. In the end the joke may be on all of us I think. Had the video been truly racist many in the media would have simply ignored it. They do so when the klan and neo-nazis spew their hate. It is the fact that she is white, blond, and is basically showing her boobs while doing this idiotic commentary that has made this a story.

Jeff, think about what you are saying. I printed the report. The true "whores" of this business ignore points of view that they feel damage them. I disagree that everything is automatically a conspiracy. By assuming FOX isn't capable of making a mistake and every single move they make is orchestrated is assigning them far too much power. Perhaps they did it on purpose, if you have any evidence they did please forward it along. Also, the Alex Jones and RTR.org's of the world gain their power from people believing so. Alex Jones' business model is paranoia. It is a free country and he can pitch whatever he wants, but make no mistake he is pitching a product.

Jona, I don't believe that the phrase “active duty military service” can be interpreted to mean serving as an employee in the White House under any circumstances. The difference between Rahm and a Private in the military is that Rahm as an employee could quit at any time. A private in the Army has no such recourse. Therein lies the difference as far as the intent of the law goes in my estimation. I stick with the opinion above, that if Rahm is on the ballot this time it will be because of political considerations. Which many will read as outright corruption. For the record this article is filed under "Opinion" and the other one under "Politics". I do my best to keep opinions out of every category except "Opinion". Michael and Anon, in no way was I attempting to belittle Democrats by using "Democrat party" over "Democratic Party". It was a simple style era. I appreciate your comments and some of the criticism is valid.

My thoughts were to get on the record before the spin takes off. If this guy had
been a typical \"tea-partier\", left-winger, Muslim or anything else each side would
dig in for advantage. In my small way I was fighting against that whichever way the
wind blew. Also, the piece is labeled as an "opinion" article.

Lastly, I hope the idea that I call myself a \"serial web entrepreneur\" isn\'t seen as a negative? It is what this country is built on.

Cao says that instead of being fired, in the samurai days he would have just given him a knife and ask them to commit "hara-kiri.""? I denounce it fully. I am surprised that the link you suggested was about someone at BP. It is impressive that you are showing limits on what you think should be done to BP executives. Most people aren't. If someone harms a BP executive can the case be made that they were influenced by people like Mr. Cao and others? When one calls for violence, even in jest, they should be careful to note that someone may take them seriously.

The page was removed from Facebook on Thursday afternoon (during the middle of "Everybody Draw Mohammed Day") and put back up this morning (5/22). See our post here for a complete update. If you look at the page itself you will see that the comments from the group and its users dry up Thursday afternoon and pick up again this morning.
