"Nearly two million individuals (or one out of every six Pennsylvanians) receive MA benefits. Sixty percent of MA recipients are low-income children and families, 21 percent are disabled individuals, 14 percent are elderly, and 5 percent are chronically ill adults, according to the Democrat House Appropriations website.

What is not listed is the percentage of illegals receiving benefits. On the PA WIC web page, it states that you don’t need to be a citizen in order to sign up to receive benefits. (Or has the web page states, “WIC does not require proof of citizenship.”) http://www.pawic.com/eligibility.html

I see that a suspected illegal crashed into a State Representative’s car in Massachusetts:

From the story: The suspect, 27-year-old Isaias Naranjo, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of an accident and driving without a valid license. According to the report, when told of the serious charges he would be facing, he just laughed.

But because of action taken by Gov. Deval Patrick, state police were unable to notify immigration authorities that Naranjo might be illegal.

Perhaps Babette Josephs will change her mind should she have a similar run in.

Received a PA GOP mailer claiming that Cawley is "endorsed" by LifePAC. This is not true.

The State Committee knows the difference between being "endorsed" and being "recommended". There are 8 Republican LT. Gov. candidates who answered the LifePAC survey, all eight are recommended, none are endorsed.

Any takers on the odds that no one at State Committee will take responsibility for this?

While I am assuming that Chairman Gleason authorized the negative mailing against Rohrer, I called State Committee asking which specific “party officials” authorized the negative mailing, since none were referenced by name. I expect to get no response as usual.

Last time this happened, no one at State Committee would own up to it.

I attended a County Chairman’s luncheon shortly after the State Committee carpet bombed Eichelberer and Folmer with negative hit pieces in a failed attempt to protect Jubelirer and Brightbill. The outgoing Chairwoman Melvin and incoming Chairman Gleason were asked who authorized these negative mailings. Melvin and Gleason looked at each other with the deer caught in the headlights glance, and stated that the county chairmen in the corresponding counties authorized the mailing.

This was a lie. It was also a dumb lie, as there were county chairmen present in the room from those corresponding areas who denied ever being contacted, much less approving the mailings.

Can someone at the PA GOP man up and say “I authorized the Rohrer mailings”?

Never said it was a conspiracy, just standard policy. I've asked for other roll call votes within days of the State Committee meeting, and was told that the information would not be released. No conspiracy, no wild speculation, just policy.

Well, I never said that it was unheard of for the state committee members to vote to endorse a candidate BEFORE the primary, just stated that State Committee will not release the roll call vote information. Depending on what else you claim that I implied in the one-sentence statement above, I guess that we can play this game forever.

Maybe we can get back to the point – you never addressed the state committee’s policy of not releasing roll call votes and attendance information. Evidently, I must assume that you approve.

Well, never said that the vote was secret, just that State Committee will not release the information. Should the fact that House and Senate votes are also broadcast on PCN be the only disclosure requirement for the legislature? In other words, if you miss the broadcast - no calling the House or Senate or your local rep / senator to find out how he / she and their individual colleagues voted?

Yes - great post! I've called the State Committee asking for the roll call votes on the vote to endorse in this year's primary - denied as usual.

Are we up to three letters now from Chairman Gleason attacking fellow Republicans?
