This is a great post. I'm looking forward to the day when I can see the people my kids grow up to be.

That is exactly how working at home goes! I had a chance to sit and do some work on my laptop in a coffee shop and was AMAZED at how much more productive I was. What do you know, maybe I'm not total slacker of a writer after all...maybe I'm just a teeny bit distracted.

Oh, me too! I think some level of psychic ability would be helpful too--to allow you to hear from inside their heads, the things they are NOT saying out loud.

Oh, goodness. How well you express what's going on inside every mother's head (and heart).

Weird as it is, I packed a pair of tweezers from my mom's bathroom drawer when I left for college, conveniently "forgetting" to ask if she minded, and have never given them back. They work better than any other tweezers I have ever tried.

Oh, I love raw dough too. Frosting straight from the can is a horrible guilty pleasure as well. And cheese. Any kind of cheese. No crackers or anything else necessary to accompany it.

Yes, what was in the package?

Once fall has actually begun, I love it. Love wearing sweaters and jeans and boots, love the crisp mornings, love the crunching leaves, love giving in to my urge to bake and drink hot tea rather than not touching my oven with a 10-foot-pole.

However, when it comes to accepting that the beginning of fall means the end of summer, I'm totally in the same camp as you. I do NOT want summer to end. I do NOT want to jump back into the routine of soccer and school mornings and this year dropping two different kids off at two different schools. I'm totally there in slacker mom club with you. I think the last time my kids had a bath was three days ago...when my parents were the ones babysitting them.

I would have been annoyed too. It's just understood that at a rock concert, people stand up and cheer and shout and dance. It's what you do.

I completely forgot about the meteor shower this year, just like I have completely forgotten about it the last two or three years in row, even though I think my kids would LOVE to see shooting stars, and even though I always watched it when I was younger. Maybe next year.
