MetsBlog.com : Note: Manuel to treat Defense like Offense

I don't expect this is something that we will see a lot of from Murphy..it was just one of those plays that happened at the wrong time in the wrong game. Josh Johnson was dominant for florida and it should at least be an encouraging sign that our pitching continues to do well...now all we need is the offense to show up.

MetsBlog.com : News: Piazza to Seaver is Happening

I haven't had time to look through all of the other posts, but just for my part I like the idea of Seaver throwing it to Piazza. I wasn't born yet when Seaver pitched for the Mets but I obviously know what a big part of the team and franchise he was...and Piazza was the face of our franchise for the time he was here. It works out well for me.

I believe they will do everything possible to get the game in on opening day, and hey I guess with 20 mph winds there we should be glad that Adam Dunn is not still there with the Reds.

Well I certainly hope not. I think Redding would be a good addition as the long man in our bullpen if he can get healthy and in shape at some point this season. However, I do not see him as our 5th starter. I think Livan will hold on to that job, and if we need a spot starter I can see Jon Niese being called up.

I say we just cut ties with Marlon on the 11th..then when Redding is ready we option Parnell to AAA..depending on how effective someone like O'Day has been.

I probably wouldn't go as far as booing him in a exhibition game myself, but I certainly can't blame the fans that felt the need to. As Metsfan1 and gipper said..we have paid this guy well and he just didn't seem ready today. I hope this changes for the regular season.

The one positive I take from ollie's start today is that we know he is a good game bad game pitcher..so hopefully this was the bad so his first regular season game turns out to be the good haha.
