Oh, wait. Do they mean an underpass for pedestrians? For a second there, I thought they meant that Collins Road would be an underpass through the mall area, an expressway like the overpass at 380. Because that would be great. I mean, trying to get past the mall traffic during midday can be pretty slow, not to mention during evening commute time, when it's worse.

"Now that he wrecked the country you want to blame the new guy."

You mean the new guy that quadrupled the deficit. Yeah, we have some nerve.

"We ain't buying it."

You and the rest of the steadily dwindling number of Obamatons? It seems like no one's buying your garbage anymore. So who cares what you do or don't buy?
Next stop for you dead-enders: the ashheap of history along with Jimmy Carter and his defenders.
Hey, maybe you can go build houses together, after we get back to having adults govern the country again.

"Otherwise , your just being a partisan."
My what is being a partisan? Whatever it is, I'll take your word for it; you seem to be an expert at being a partisan.

Here's an idea: have the Gazette explain their idiotic posting system and just what is so offensive in a long post I composed that refuted this drivel point-by-point.
The very least the mods could do would be to return my post to me if I want to edit it, rather than have it vanish without a trace. Maybe then, more people who aren't professional time-wasters might post here.

But I'm not supposed to judge them based on the actions of Al Qaeda or any rioting or killing they do. Nice double standard you have there.

"I have a suggestion for Jones and his followers. If you want to & send a clear message to the radical element of Islam (that) we will no longer be controlled and dominated by their fears and threats &, invest your energy in helping the war-weary and poor in the Mideast instead of inciting riots."

Recently, a nun attempted to do just that. The authorities in that country destroyed her Bible and ripped the cross from around her neck.

I recently read about a nun who attempted to do just that. Customs officials of the benighted middle east islamic hellhole she visited confiscated her Bible and ripped the cross of her neck.

A better plan would be to reconcile yourself to these lawyers in black robes being removed and get on with your life.

"These angry letters to the editor recently are getting more and more puzzling."

I'm thinking you find a lot of things puzzling. Road signs. Simple instructions. Walking and chewing gum at the same time.

"We have the best country in the world, the best government and a great president."

You'd never know that from listening to our grating president. He seems to think we're the worst country in the world and need to apologize to thugs and dictators. Oh, and we need to be "fundamentally transformed".

"Take back our country?"
Yes.
"To what?"
Liberty and Constitutionally-limited government.

"Don’t take anyone’s reading of the United States Constitution as fact. Read it yourself."

Already have read it, and apparently understood it better than you do, or you'd be angry about how it's being violated and ignored. Unless, of course, you're an unprincipled jerk who doesn't mind it being violated because you think you stand to benefit.

"You can buy a copy that includes the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution for about $10. I have one and it fits in my pocket."

We're well aware of that, you patronizing doofus.

"You are angry about future taxes?"
Yeah, we little people who actually work for a living worry about stupid little things like that. You'll have to pardon us.

"Who did you think would pay for the mess we allowed to happen?"

"We" allowed to happen? Who is this "we" you write of? YOU and other clueless fools like yourself allowed this to happen. We who are angry were a bit more aware of the consequences of the decisions being made, but were ignored, shouted down, or called racist by idiots like you when we tried to alert the public.

"Now the responsibilities are ours."
In a sane society, the parties responsible for problems (you and your ilk) would be held accountable.

"This president is working on many difficult problems."

The president has created and is creating many difficult problems. The only thing he seems to be working on is awarding his political allies and his golf game.

"Are Americans so used to problems being solved in a half-hour that we can’t understand the time needed for real solutions?

No, we just understand the difference between solutions and making the problem worse.

"We can support our great country by supporting those who are making a real effort"

When we see someone making a real effort. Haven't seen anyone (in power) doing that. Blindly supporting those making false efforts isn't helping our country at all.

"and helping those who are suffering real difficulties."

"If you are going to continue to write more negative, angry letters, please explain your positions."

If you're going to continue to vote or offer your opinions on politics, please become better informed.

"Most important, what are you really angry about? If you can’t tell us, we will consider the possibilities."

You don't seem to be able to tell us what makes you so complacent. We'll have to consider the possibilities.

Punishing the court does promote a humble judiciary and a healthy separation of powers.
