Big Hollywood : Daily Call Sheet: Hollywood Cuts Its Own Throat and Bleeds SOPA, Letterman at 30, and Links Galore!

Well no, cuz see....he's always been a liberal and we used to like him just fine. It's when he started hatin' on we who disagree with him that we decided to just not bother anymore. Show biz is a biz....if you piss off the customer, the customer doesn't come back.

Big Hollywood : 'Love Story' (1970) Blu-ray Review: Classic Tear-Jerker Jerks My Tears

John, I think it pushed your buttons because you're a guy hopelessly in love with your wife. Just seeing yourself in a situation like that is enough to get any man to start looking around the room for peeled onions. I know, cuz I'm married and would be the same way...that's why I'm not sure I'll ever see this one.

I confess to enjoying "30 Rock" in the beginning. Truth be told, I'd probably *still* enjoy it, but I just got tired of the stars telling me what an idiot I was, so I quit watching. I also think Tina Fey is hot. Pray for me.

When we cut cable and decided to watch shows online, this was one of the shows that somehow got away from us. Reading this post tells me it's better that way. Love the music, hate the politics. Buh-bye, Glee.

Big Hollywood : Morning Playlist: The 'Drive' Soundtrack That Wasn't?

I made it through ten minutes of the Symmetry album. Do I hate it? No. Do I understand why anyone would buy it? No, again. I just hear boring riffs on someone's computer. I wish I *could* say I hated it because that would mean it elicited some kind of reaction from me. This was just....what, exactly???? I guess I'm older than I thought. I hope I live long enough to hear melody come back to music, preferably coupled with intelligible lyrics. I enjoy a catchy riff in Top 40 music as much as anyone, but God how I miss melody.

Pretty enjoyable picks, Ezra. Especially for a guy like me who was hip for about ten minutes back in 1989 and needs the help. While I'm sure you and I will violently disagree the second you post a bluegrass or electronica tune on here, I look forward to you trying to change my mind. Is this going to be a daily feature? Or weekly?

Big Hollywood : HomeVideodrome: Inspiration for 'The Departed' and a 'Nothingburger' from Hanks

I'm with ya Hunter. For 30 years, I was the biggest Tom Hanks fan on the planet. I haven't seen all his movies, but I've seen quite a few, and have the others on my list of...someday I'll get around to it. Now it's....meh. I still think Julia Roberts was robbed when she wasn't cast in the title role of Seabiscuit. She's as talented as she is attractive. When Larry Crowne airs on a Sunday afternoon on my local independent TV channel....maybe.

Big Hollywood : Daily Call Sheet: Big Media In Trouble, 'Tintin' Reviews, Adam Sandler's Movies Ranked

We had our cable disconnected exactly one week ago and so far have not missed it. So far the only obstacle has been trying to find a place offering streaming for James Caan in "Sliver", last Saturday's classic pick. I may have to break down and buy the danged thing. I'll miss Fox Sports once baseball season rolls around, but other than that....there is no longer any such thing as "must-see TV." Plenty of local channels in Cincinnati, and the Amazon/Netflix/internet combo is working very well for us indeed. So..anyone got a copy of "Sliver" I can borrow? :-)
