Just Another iPhone Blog : Tweetie 2: ‘New App’ - Will Spit On Existing ‘Old App’ Users

So you buy an app and expect updates forever? Get a grip. Don't like it, don't buy it. Apple need to allow dev's to charge for upgrades. That model works everywhere else for software far more expensive than iPhone app's. Can't believe you wasted that much energy on a post when it's only $3.

iand.net : Sky HD EPG Update

That's how I watch TV as well - nothing live, all recorded. I've switched off the mini tv and make sure I'm on a different channel before entering the guide. It's a stupid feature - why not switch off the sound as well? I would class that as a bug. Another issue I've got is the box switches on at random times during the day more frequently than it used to. What is it checking? Or is it downloading EPG schedules?

iand.net : Pirate Bay

That Western Digital has been picking up a lot of great reviews. Good purchase! I've been thinking of getting something myself. Maybe a Mac Mini but it just costs so much, and most of my TV is now via Sky rather than newsgroups. I noticed the court case for Newzbin - there's a couple of other alternative sites now so if they do go down we should still be ok. Nothing like a bit of loyalty.

iand.net : OnLive - A new Era?

Read the Eurogamer article - does seem to poo poo the whole thing. Just can't believe it has the backing of so many though and also picked up so much press that it's BS. We'll see soon enough. Maybe it will split between, and I hate saying this, hardcore gamers and casual. Casual will be quite happy with a cheap platform that isn't quite perfect but looks good and plays ok. Hardcore will use OnLive too but still prefer PC/console gaming to get more reliable lag free, trouble free gaming.

Cheers for the comments guys. Zero nails the issue in that I need to export to see the image changes - non destructive image editing in Lightroom is very nice until you want to see the changes elsewhere. I'm going to go with exporting my fav's into iPhoto and live with the duplication. It's not like I take that many photo's anyway, or indeed have that many 'good' photo's. Just like everything quite clean and simple.

iand.net : More on Search

Feed seems to be working fine if I look at feed alone or in Bloglines or Google reader. The first time I looked in Bloglines it was displaying nothing from this year! I then added the Feedburner feed which displayed all latest content. I then looked at the original feed and it was up to date as well. Methinks a Bloglines issue, but then I would! Thanks again for the heads up. Now Lijit free.

Cheers for the info H. Lijit now uninstalled. I also got an e-mail from a reader saying it broke the site when they used it - back to default Wordpress for now. The feed news is very interesting. I moved from Feedburner to Google owned account in Feedburner (I know what I meant!!!) but still the same feed address and in Google Reader the feed has been working fine. I wonder if it's a feed issue or Bloglines? I do remember reading that some feeds in Bloglines were failing. Time to investigate further.

iand.net : Dumgoyne

One of my friends was on a walk a couple of years ago when one of the party slipped and done in his ligaments. In the middle of nowhere, no phone signal and the only option was to keep him warm and calm while others went off to try and get help. Cue three hours of trying to get mountain rescue, calling in helicopter and seeing said friend air lifted off. All from a slip. I saw at the weekend just how easy it is to go from innocent walk to a pretty dangerous environment, no winds to howling gales and the weather closing in really quickly. I had map, compass and some basic first aid but I can see how having some other basics as you've mentioned, split amongst the group, could be essential. Cheers for the pointers...and the nudge in the right direction.

iand.net : London Calling

Rule of thirds were totally in my mind when processing that picture...but I liked it with the little eagle so I was kind of stuck. I'll throw up a rule of thirds version tomorrow. Which I should have probably done on the first place. In fact what I really should have done was be more mindful of my surroundings and think about the final shot. And yes, I did try and get a Batman Begins quote in there :-)
