With Iran in post-election turmoil, the temptation to strike must be almost irresistible. But just as eating the apple presented to Eve and ultimately Adam was too good to pass up, the consequences will be dire. Instead of gaining access to the Tree of Knowledge, the Tree of Ignorance shall be their lot (which, incidentally, many Israel apologists are already sitting under while contemplating the beauty of their US-navel-centric view of the world). While we have been told that the wages of sin are death the wages of stupidity will be economic death for the US as world opinion turns against it despite any attempts at "plausible" deniability. All that the US needs now, like a hole in the head, is for the Iranian armed forces to be "invited" into Iraq, in the US rear. With what is essentially a three-front war, the temptation to beat down Iran with some surgically placed nukes, while apologising for unavoidable collateral damage will really heap the faeces into the fan. As Chalmers Johnson would say"Beware of the blowback"!!
