i just did it to another Tmobile phone. It took 3 restarts before the settings appeared.

use redsnow 7.2 it works perfect. I have a 2G and jailbroke/unlocked with redsnow on a PPC G4 worked great. Awesome. thanks dev team. Pwnage tool crashes on mine too.
