I completely agree, and I support you both. Please pass that on to Dusti. There is nothing wrong with making a decision that is best for you both.

I've been following this conversation since the blog posted, and I've been debating whether or not to post. But I feel compelled. I am INCREDIBLY disappointed by the amount of judgement I see on this page. Dusti shared her opinion about a topic that is often difficult to discuss. Why is it difficult? Because of precisely what happened on this page. Because our society is *incredibly* judgmental. Dusti did not advocate that anyone agree with her opinion. She simply stated her feelings and asked what other people would do in such a hypothetical situation. In response, many people have been incredibly judgmental of her.

This is why I choose not to share with this group what I would do in such a situation. I do not care to be judged by people that don't know my personal situation.

Similarly, having worked for years with women and men in the field of women's health and family planning, I can tell you that *many* women do the same. They say one thing in public but do something entirely different in the privacy of their doctor's office -- where they are free from judgement. This is why so many women that have abortions or choose to give their children up for adoption lie about it. Because they are afraid of being judged or looked at differently. I strongly believe, whether we agree or disagree with Dusti's opinion, that we should support and respect each other. We should listen; we should keep an open mind; we should educate -- but we should NOT judge.

Honestly, I'm a goal setter. Do I think they're absolutely necessary? No. For me, the important thing is to figure out what my goals are but then not let them dictate my life. Kind of like you said - if you change your mind, you change your mind. I made a bucket list a few years ago, which if you think about it, is really just one long list of goals. One of the rules I made for the list is that I can change the list on a whim. Goals aren't good if they get you stuck doing something you realize you don't actually want to do. But they can also be a good reminder of the things you want do want to do (sometimes we get distracted by life and sort of forget about those things). So I use my bucket list as that reminder. I don't let goals dictate my life, but I do use them to my advantage at the times when they can be helpful. As with everything, it seems striking a nice balance is important. :)

Marian, I think it's beautiful that you shared all this! Quite simply, life isn't always rainbows and butterflies, and it can take a ton of courage to be honest about that. I am thinking of you and wishing you all the best as you take this journey of yours (I've been following on your personal blog too!). I know the feeling of 'running away' and I've been facing some of my own demons lately. But it's good. Because it all leads to growth and molds you into the person you are every single day. And from everything I've read from your time at Stratejoy and your personal blog, I'd say you're one amazing lady! Sending you big hugs!

First, I totally get what you mean. I'm not used to be the center of attention either (except when I'm blogging, which is a strange departure from my usual nature). And second, your wedding sounds BRILLIANT. Beautiful and totally you. And that's exactly what it should be. :) Love that!

LOVE this! Not to mention, that strip of road on California's coast is one of my absolute favorite places in the world. So, so beautiful. Reading this gave me goosebumps. (And I'm not so much for the whole Secret thing either.) Awesome, Molly. I'm inspired to do a new vision board for the year!

I can totally relate to this! Especially the cycle of getting hired, getting to know co-workers, getting bored and moving on. As I have learned this about myself, I have realized that the work that I do needs to allow for a lot of autonomy. I need to be able to control at least 80% of my work day in order to be happy at a workplace. And, slowly, I'm finding that balance. Great post!

You said it perfectly. I seriously love this. :) And I'm totally with you -- I'm still pretty pissed at Kate Winslet for that floating door fiasco, myself....
