That is why it is not surprising that in 2009, only 40 percent of fourth graders had math skills that rated as proficient or advanced You forgot to tack on "because of structural racism in American society"...racists! /sarc To be honest, I'm not sure any of the girls that I went to high school with who are now elementary school teachers are capable of calculating "percent" without a tutor or a computer program to step them through it. That's gotta be a factor in our children's innumeracy (and also explains why minimizing the use of numbers to concentrate on the "social justice" garbage is so appealing to "educators.") (More generally, math has been "racism" for a long time. Insisting on one-and-only-one correct answer is a trait of evil white ice people, or something.)
