I'm not sure I could disagree more. Minimum wage laws exist for a reason. It's not like they were put into place because everything was fine.

Outrage fatigue is a two-way street. You either stop caring about the issue or you get sick of being attacked and start getting rid of the attackers. This is a "don't screw me" sort of thing.

The problem with cutting spending is that it undercuts consumer demand. Less demand means higher unemployment, which in turn means less revenue.

So what you do is cut spending when the economy is good, but increase it when the economy is bad. You may not like that answer, but that doesn't make it untrue.
