Gotta say - I saw nothing negative in it at all. Was there a specific bit that you've picked up on Graham?

Like your style Lenny. Something tells me that Lofters wouldn't bow down to the media - under any circumstances. :D

No mate - just didn't want to influence any other comments really. When I read it back I felt a bit like someone who'd posted a blog for people to vote on but published their own vote, and opinion, at the same time.

I really was trying to stimulate some thought and, gotta say, I'm impressed by some of the comments posted. Interesting that nobody has given their opinion based just on what I asked - but have expanded their views on John Terry.

I wonder if some opinions would differ from those posted if our Board really did interfere with team affairs to the extent that they have at the F.A. I see absolutely no difference in the role of a Manager of a Country compared to the role of a Manager of a Club in terms of team selection. They pay him to do the job and it should be his to decide on the Captain that he considers best to implement his tactics and strategy during the course of a game on the pitch. Whatever John Terry's allegedly done has nothing to do with the fact that Capello's authority has been completely undermined and his position, as you point out, has become untenable. I agree that Capello should have kicked JT out of the team but it should've been his decision entirely.

All boiled down who's team is it - his or the FA's?

It's a lot more complex in the case of England, Capello & Terry but interference from above is interference from above - however it's dressed up.

You also make an excellent point about the role of the press - far more succinctly than I have. They were all over the TV, Radio & Internet yesterday with their "Capello engineered this situation" allegations. They wanted him out and they want Harry Redknapp in because they know they're going to get far more to fill their columns with him in place IMO. I'll laugh my socks off if Stuart Pearce takes England to the Euros this year and wins it. Then we'll see who's been engineering situations.

PS. Mine was actually a rather delightful bottle of, Silver Medal Awarded, Cru de Beaujolais called Domaine Pardon from Vieilles Vignes - 2010. Long, Silky finish with a violet blossom nose to complement the blackcurrant palate (that's wot it says on the bottle anyway - I just thought it tasted nice).

Off Topic (apologies).

Consider the following scenario: -

Whilst Sam Allardyce is out of the country (eg. on holiday, looking at a foreign player, taking the Transit Van on a channel ferry booze cruise) David Gold & David Sullivan announce to the press that they have decided to strip Kevin Nolan of the Club's captaincy. They don't announce another captain. The Maruitian/Italian/French press catch up with Big Sam in Port Louis/Milan/Calais and, during the interview, Allardyce voices his displeasure at his paymaster's actions. He's then called in to a meeting, upon his return/after unloading the van at the lock up, during which he resigns.

So here's the question. Who, in the scenario, is out of order?

I also wonder if Sir Alex Ferguson would put up with it from the Glaziers.

They're not the only ones Roy. I've posted this before but the move to the Olympic Stadium in Barcelona nearly finished Espanyol. It wasn't 'til they moved out of the city to a purpose built stadium that the fans returned.

Agree completely. If that can be achieved then it's got to happen.

It's really not that simple academyhammer - we won't grow if the crowds fall away to less than 20K pr game - which will happen if a solution to the seating being so far from the pitch isn't found.

Could you also congratulate David Sullivan on listening to the fans. The Supporter's Forum is terrific. The outspoken press comments have all but disappeared. Basically he's got his head down and got on with the job of running, and developing, the club. It's not escaped our notice and he should be encouraged to continue with his, and David Gold's, efforts on our behalf. I'd like to thank him for his work to date.

I'd like nothing better than Upton Park to hold 45K. I think that would be a special atmosphere - especially if the East Stand is built forwards as per the original plan. That way the sides of the pitch would be close to the stands again. The major issue with that would be getting in and out of the area on match-days. Basically you're creating half as many people again. Something would have to be done about public transport and parking (maybe some kind of park & ride scheme). I don't think those challenges are insurmountable though.

I've heard some people comment that this is a flawed scheme because you can't expand in to Priory Road. This argument is a non-starter because you wouldn't have to touch Priory Road - the stand would expand inwards towards the West Stand and not any further backwards in to Priory Road at all.

Saw that Ade. Twitter gets us in trouble once more by the looks. Not the best start for Ravel.
