I feel the same way. It's hard to understand why anyone would risk their retirement for......well anyone. I doubt that even if she had a promissory note that she would get that money back. She should have told him NO and just be done. If it ends then it ends but she would have kept her money.

Thank you for your kind words. I am such a private person that I hesitated several times before publishing this post. It's been written for about a week or so now but we've known that IVF would be the way we have to go since August/September. We definitely didnt plan for the detour but my GYN has long suspected that something was wrong but I didnt want to talk about it. But Ill post about how it came to be that we would need IVF in the post after this.

The way I see it, it takes two to make a baby.� At least put yourself in a position where you can care for your child without taking your ex's new partner to court.� To me it makes you look like you would rather ride on the back of someone else than get up and work just as hard as she did for her paycheck.� I dont mind the EX taking the MAN to court in order to support his child but I think it should be based on HIS check and not their paychecks as a whole.� When it comes down to it as he stated in his letter, this is more about the ex spiting him than it is her wanting the child to have a better life.

Numbers vary from state to state but the average is between 17-20%.� They earn 120k together.� He earns 40k and 20% of that is $8k which would be what the EX gets now.� If they take 20% of 120k that will be 24k, making it three times the amount the EX gets now.� The payments would go from $666/month to $2000/month and that's more than a couple hundred bucks.
