This is a center-right country. The demographics have changed since Reagan, and even he wasn't hard-core conservative.
A hard-core conservative like Santorum can never win. (Nor can a grouch like Newt -- people respond to optimism) That's why Obama ran as such an optimistic centrist (his socialism hidden well by his lapdogs in the media) which allowed so many duped moderates to vote for him. They now regret their votes and realize his commie tendencies. Romney, who is center-right is the only one who can beat Obama and he will most definitely not put two ACLU commies on the Supreme Court like Obama already has. Let's live in the real world, people, not an ideologically stuck one. The hard-core conservatives need to be in the Congress and in the powerful committee seats where the real power is.
