I've been reading alot about The USSR...It seems the function of the KGB was to investigate "Economic Crimes" against the state. Anyone that was against any of the gov'ts plans were subject to arrest and worse. Sounds eerily similar to the new Obama plan to monitor emails that point out the fallacy of his programs. Coming next from Washington "The Thought Police".
The liberals decried GWB and the NSA for protecting us from foreign enemies. Not a peep from them about this gov't intrusion.

I can't believe the congressmen & women from Long Island (a bastion of the middle class) are falling for thesocialist agenda of the left wing of the Democratic Party. Only Peter King speaks out against this stuff. We are the highest taxed region in the country and they think we can afford more taxes. I don't know who elects these people - nobody I know. Makes me sad.

Put all federal employees including elected one in the Social Security & Medicare plans. Stop all taxes on SS. Stop the benefit package the congress & president get. Cut the office staffs of Congress & president in half.
Do all this retroactively, so our elected representatives can feel what it's like to have someone change the rules of the game on them.
I could go on and on and on.........but I have to work........to pay my cigarette taxes.
ps..........what do the state & federal gov'ts do when we all stop smoking.......where would they get the money.....plus, what did they all do with the money the cigarette companies gave them?......and did they raise taxes to keeps the programs going after the money ran out??

1- TERM LIMITS........the most important......4 terms in the house....2 in the senate....thats it
2- Put Legislators in the Social Security System & Medicare when they retire...just like us.....or give the people the package they now have
3- Bring back the draft....no exemptions......not this Civilian Security Corp
4- Make English the official language.
5- Impeach or expel - any congressman or senator the votes for something he later claims he didn't read.
6- The big 3 auto makers should be given all the gov't contracts to build military stuff - tanks / etc etc.
7-Stop taxing SS as income - this would give a boost to the ecommy and help seniors.
8- You must be able to identify yourself to vote.......this ones a no brainer.
9- Enforce existing immigration laws.
10- Enforce existing Gun Control laws.
11- Congress should meet every other year......give them time to read next years bills....they could be called back for emergencies.
12 - IMPORTANT - All laws passed and signed into law, this includes spending bills. Expire after 5 years. After 5 years we should know all the hidden ramifications caused by the item in question. If it doesn't do what it was intended to do, or cost too much it can be repealed. If it does what it was intended to do, it can be made permanent.
The originator of new bills should include in the language of any bill what is intended and the overall purpose of the bill / law. Then down the road, federal courts will not have to try and figure out what the law means and what it was trying to accomplish.
