The entire "marriage equality" argument is ludicrous. Stripping away the element of the religious covenant, marriage is a contract. It is covered by contract law.

Any citizen has the right to life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, and the RIGHT TO CONTRACT.

Since the elements of the relationship and its obligations are already covered in the law, the outcry for "marriage equality" is really nothing more than an effort to make a mockery of traditional marriage.
