No doubt in my mind that she, as well as most members of congress, knew. Why can't they just give it up and move on to more important things, like the housing industry. This is not gaining anything. In fact we are really starting to look pretty foolish to other countries, most particularly countries that are less than friendly towards us.

Enough already. They are acting as though there are no matters of importance that need be dealt with, say the economy.....This is another tactic to cast our attention away from the short falls of this Congress. Maybe the Senators and Reps that are speaking the loudest are the most guilty.....Say Ms. Pelosi and this guy.

Hopefully the good people of California will have seen through Ms. Pelosi and her bull, and vote her out..The state of California, in the words of O'Reily, would then be Patriots...

Sadly I agree. Bankruptcy appears to be the only option. They need to get out from under the UAW. The union officials are the only people that are coming out good in this. There is no place for unions in this country, any longer. At one time the need was there. Workers were being obused and prejudiced. But these things, although still happen from time to time, are no longer an issue. Our laws prohibit this from happening. They protect us, as long as it is known, from these things.

The unions must go to keep our industries competitve with the rest of the wolrd, and to keep our jobs in this country.

Leave the Bush people alone, Mr. President. This country had a deep safe feeling during the Bush Admin. Yes, a lot of countries leaders were not big fans of George W. Who cares. They didn't like him because they couldn't push him around. No matter what anyone thinks about Mr. Bush, he did keep this country safe, and his only goal when dealing with foreign leaders, was for the good of OUR country.

Unless our President IS extremely naive, then he should already see, through Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez, that these people could care less about the U.S. All they care about is what ANY country can do for them...not their country, but them personally.

The George W. crutch is fading. Time for Obama to stop the blame game and start leading.

The first time they may have made a mistake and not saw the US flag, until it was too late, but this one was certainly on purpose. Mr. Obama will have to act on this, or these instances on our ships will continue. Seems as though all of these potentially dangerous countries, and groups of terrorists (which these pirates are), are trying to see how far they can push our new leader. It wouldn't take a great force to stop these pirates, but if he doesn't act on this ,it will only show weakness on our part. Where is our Texas Ranger when you need him??

I would like to see Barack Obama appear for a full hour on the Glenn Beck program (Fox). This could be planned a bit in advance and have views send in questions that they would like to see answered by our leader...

An easy way to get our elected officials to fix the social security program would be to eliminate their retirement plans, which allow them to live out their lives VERY comfortably, and have to survive on Social Security.

I assure you that they would find a way to either fix it, or replace with a better system..

If they count all of the illegal aliens(oops, not supposed to call them that any more), then they are potentially going to gain more electoral votes. I was not suprised to see that this guy is a Democrat. This is one more reason to do away with the electoral college. The popular vote should be the only count needed to determine the elections...

I think we should see the entire proposal by Gates. He is no dummy. The way I understood what he was saying was not that he proposed to cut the defense money, but distribute it differently. I'm not sure that I agree with the F-22 being cut, but for the price of (1) F-22, how many F-16's or F-18's could we buy. There are some things in the military planning stages that are so expensive that it takes up a huge portion of the budget to get a few. We have a lot of advanced weapons, both for offense and defense, that are proven, and are far ahead of our adversaries. Of what I have heard Mr. Gates is proposing that we spend more to produce these proven items...
But, I would like to see, in writing so as to have time to go through it, exactly what this is saying...

This seems to be their only hope to continue, in any manner. This could be the only alternative for all American Auto manufactures, in order to get out from under the rule of the UAW. There was a point in our histoy when unions were a good thing for workers, but now that Uncle Sam is watching the way that workers are being treated, there is no place for the unions. No industry can last by paying workers far more than the norm in salary. In doing so, and by having to follow the more stringent Govt. standards, they have their prices so high that the average person can not afford.
