Fine. He and his family present a pretty package. Now. What about him? His voting record? His policies? His almost pathological obsession with social issues?

I wonder from whom he will extort money, or a beer distributorship, or placement of business with black-owned enterprises? Any of those three and he goes away.

What is "Rosa Parks Way? I moved from Portland in 1995, when you could still safely refer to Union Avenue without being busted by the thought police. What WAS "Rosa Parks Way"? Thank you.

And, for those capable of using big words, the term is "institutional racism". It's the kind that the users of the phrase cannot show you with concrete examples, but, like the tooth fairy, it IS there.

I live in a part of the country (Alabama) where the only thing that matters is footbawl. The pacific northwest starts their day with a cup of $6.00 coffee and loses sleep at night over finding a good Subaru mechanic. The Northeast tries to devise more ways to drive business away with ever more regulations and taxes. Who has time to worry about trivialities like the Constituion and the Bill of Rights? ROLL TIDE!

Big Hollywood : Adam Carolla Trashes Occupy Wall Street in Epic Rant

"Boomers" did this. "Boomers" caused that! "Boomers" are no damned good! So many of you go on and on mouthing the shibboleths you've been taught about us. I, a 1949 Boomer, draw the line in the sand right here and now. We did not create the Ponzi scheme called social security. We did not start the ball rolling to create the economy-choking alphabet agencies, commissions, bureaux, offices, and departments that regulate every aspect of our lives from shower head volume to the light bulbs we use, to whom we choose to rent or sell our homes, or with whom we conduct business. Roosevelt, Truman, Ike, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford and Carter were not boomers. We did not vote in the politicians that hung us with hiring quotas, excuse me, affirmative action. Richard Nixon was not a boomer. We did not vote for the politicians that dragged us into alliances we should not have been involved in in the first place. We didn't form the unions, or join the unions, that struck and sabotaged product and facilities to the point the jobs went away. (think 1950s and 1960s auto and steel strikes). We were in school or diapers when the greatest generation and its parents did all that). We did not vote for the man who "opened China" to "diplomatic relations", and thus opened the door to export US jobs. Again, the non-boomer Nixon and his sidekick Herr Doktor Heinrich Kissinger can be thanked. We did not originate the idea of socialized medicine in the US. (think Johnson and Medicare and handing Harry Truman Medicare card #1). We sure as the sun rises tomorrow did not put us in the United Nations, nor did we put the United Nations here. Boomers were not on the Supreme Court for Roe Vs Wade, nor were we there for Brown vs Board of Education. Yes, much is our fault, but the alleged "greatest generation" grabbed hold of what Woodrow Wilson started, ran with it, and what they did snowballed into what you see today. Many of my generation bought in to it, including me. But, most of us woke up long ago. I cannot explain the behavior of our kids or grandkids because I don't have any. But perhaps, just perhaps, if our parents and grandparents had not voted and legislated us into our present state of fragmentation and high taxes, mom could be at home for the kids, we could live with our own kind and not fear going out at night, and there'd be no laws to keep young kids from having an after-school or weekend job so they could develop a work ethic. Midnite, keep blaming the boomers all you want. The causes are many, but we are not the sole cause of the problems this nation faces. We did not wave a magic wand in 1968 and bring it all crashing down. Some of my generation were screwups in the 1960s; I do not deny that. But do not DARE tar us all with the same brush. And for heaven sake give us some credit for being able to recognize our errors and trying to correct them. Most of us are NOT like my recently-passed mother and others of her generation who - almost to her dying day - was convinced Roosevelt and his kind were some sort of savior. We have no such heroes; we became cynical enough to know that there are no heroes.
