I agree that government, in your 2 examples above, was not effective. I disagree it was lack of gov't involvement and more to do with poorly designed laws. The role of gov't is a difficult balancing act between free market principles and man's inherent drive for power and money without regard to their fellow man or surroundings. Barney Frank's good intention of making home ownership more available was a poorly laid out plan that also contributed to the economic mess we find ourselves. Just as is the reform of health care. THe media and bloggers play up the difference between Conservatives and liberals as one cares about their neighbor and the other doesn't. But in reality we both want to help our neighbor but have different philosophies on how to arrive at the same end result.

Regarding your last paragraph, I stated conservative principles not free market principles have led to us being a world leader. Also history can not be rewritten, even though many try.

Cheers

Even though you start off with an insult, as most people do when they cannot intelligently argue a point, I will slowly spell out a couple solutions. Following history, our Country does very well when Government intrusion is kept to a minimum and free market principles are followed. THis is the philosophy difference, between libs and conservatives. We believe, and history proves this, that a Country will grow to be the world leader when the conservative principles are followed. Both sides want their fellow man to be safe, fed, and housed. WE believe that there should be personal responsibility and that you get what you work for , not get what someone else works for.

I would bet that the issue most have is your statement about indoctrination. Parents can decide what their kids learn, not a publicly traded company.

Congratulations!!! My oldest daughter is on Broadway and is a major liberal. So much for my indoctrination classes

LOL. You Sir are a classic liberal using talking points vice facts. When presented with facts you try to degrade your opponent. Many of us "neo cons" still value our constitution and believe in the peoples rights. Just because you have a "feeling" that the earth is warming and to solve this "feeling" we should transfer our wealth to the poor, does not make you correct.

WE agree on something. THey have the right to spew ignorance and we have the right to boycott their company for any reason we chose. Oh and there are plenty of left wingers that believe a public company should stay out of politics.

AS a single Dad with 3 balanced grown daughters your hypothesis about children is, how do they say, CRAP.
You have the choice to teach your kids what you want and I have the choice not to subject my kids to this build a bear opinion.
