It could be single cam but given the width of the valve cover under the blanket/towel I'm inclined to agree that it is a b-series.

Also, since it has a vtec solenoid and a non-gsr intake manifold I'd wager that its a B16. Fender is from a 96-00 civic.

I'd put my money on a 99/00 Civic Si

When I worked for my parents mechanic (ex-Vasek Polak race mechanic) in high school he learned me to do it without a torque wrench and it has worked fine for me on many cars since.

But for some a torque wrench is probably a good idea. I've had a couple cars that took a breaker bar and kicking to break the drain plug loose the first time I changed its oil.

I've had that problem too, but at the moment most of my cars can clear the ramp fine. But if I try to drive on them with my "racecar" I just push the ramps up the driveway

Even my moms stock height W202 will push the ramps unless I gun it for a second.

Since there is no real benefit to having the wheels in the air for oil changes I seldom use a jack and jackstands. I've got a set of drive on ramps that put the car at a good height and vastly simplify the process.

+1 on chocking the tires. I've found that split firewood works better than scrap lumber if you don't have wheel chocks. I've had lumber slip before on boat trailers, but never with the firewood.

I feel like I've had a few first cars.

When I first got my license I spent some time driving an '85 Olds 88 custom cruiser. We'd had it forever, it was the first car I crashed (at the age of 3) and it had been downgraded to our dog/hay hauling car. It had no rear window, a large population of spiders, various kinds of hay and fungi growing in it, the tape deck had been stolen (in 2004), started with a screw driver and I don't remember having a key for the doors. Did I love the car? Yes, it was an epic first car. Hooned it on gravel roads, did one legger burnouts in the high school parking lot for days, generally didn't give a f*ck about shit happening to it. Do I want it back? Not really. It was a good first car but that car was just too far gone. Around the same time as the olds I drove my dads '81 633CSi some aswell. Didn't last long, it blew a headgasket (in 2005) and we never got around to fixing the headgasket and all the other issues. Finally got around to selling it last year. That car I'd love to be able to get back and restore but I'd rather just find one that is running and in good shape.

What I consider my first car was technically my fourth, but was the first car I bought with my own money (all $60 of it). 1990 Civic Hatch sold to me by the original owners daughter with maintenance records all the way back. It was in pretty rough shape; interior was disgusting, rear hatch had a terrible leak, auto tranny was damn near dead, it had blown its 3rd headgasket and there was some scary as hell wiring going on under the hood where the previous owners "mechanic" had rigged up a house light switch and some radioshack temp sensors to the fans. I found a complete 5spd civic with a dead motor for free and quickly converted mine to a 5 speed and drove it for awhile. Interior cleaned up pretty well, removed the fans and associated wiring, fixed the leak and never had any problems with it. I still have it, it hasn't been registered for a few years and I need to smog it. But I will never sell it and plan to get working on it after I sell one of my 4wd civic wagons.

I need a kidney for an E39 M5. I'd love to have an M5 but just can't commit to giving up a kidney, yours would simplify things immensely. When can I expect it to arrive?

Didn't realize there was a better picture of it behind the Sierra, it is without a doubt an Imp. I wants to know more.
