Fools, don't you realize that he set this up all along to outwit the media? This is what happens when someone is the most conservative conservative ever to live, the Establishment comes along and tries to sabotage him.
It's little known but Gingrich was meeting with the college of cardinals a decade ago. They said to him, "You know, we're thinking, put you in there instead of this Ratzinger joker. You're clearly the conservative candidate." He declined, explaining how that would only play into the Establishment's hands.
Though I respect your effort to reason out those assertions with him/her/it, there is no point. Only one result counts this week and the online textrovert cheerleaders would be setting themselves up for imminent shame were they posting under their real names. The "Gingrich hates Reagan" ads made no sense at all, even to anyone who casually followed 1990s politics, but Romney isn't clever enough to campaign on real issues. Meanwhile the increasingly rabid and demented Gingrich shock troops are now bashing Mitch Daniels. Statements like "Obama and Gingrich are equivalent" are mere noise and not worth evaluating.
Annoy Paul Ryan, annoy Tom Coburn, annoy Bob McDonnell, probably annoy Jim DeMint, etc., vote Newt. Primaries are held for petty therapeutic gratification after all.
ShawnSen, did a skinny-tie missionary run over your dog with his bike or something? Grow up--it's a GOP primary, not a showcase for your personal tantrum about LDS etc.
Um, yeah, I remember that Rhode Island Senate seat she botched up... Most partisan Democrat state in the northeast. And oh it was so crazy when she moved to Reno and stood for office in Nevada; thanks for sharing your clueless, irrelevant analysis.
Unlike the Romney '12 employee who replied earlier I don't have a prob w/ Palin saying whatever she wants, however your convoluted theory of her quasi-endorsement shows some confusion about the purpose of a contested national party nomination. Obviously she finds Romney unsatisfactory; the reasons she apparently thinks highly of Gingrich are indeed mysterious but she doesn't owe either one a favor. Unlike the other endorsers who are angling for a job/VP spot, she's not going to be on any short list if Romney wins (let alone if Mr. Scozzafava Moonbase wins) and, if she truly considers him a Rockefeller-style sell-out Republican, is duty-bound to proclaim that NOW, before Super Tuesday. That's the opposite of narcissism.
Perhaps Mitt gets the message, perhaps not. The election's going to be about Obama.
Romney's Mormonism is one of his few positive qualities. As for her she's probably just one of the idle Floridians supplied with walking-around money by the Mittster.
Heh, you're asking that of a Gingrich booster? Not paying attention is a point of pride for them.
