This was the first Sherwood Baptist film that was shown in mainstream cinemas here in Oz. Initially it was going to open for just a week, then it went on to two and then three.

It pushed all the right buttons for most people I know. I encouraged friends to see it to support Sherwood's endeavours so that they can keep making better films.

Each to their own...

But she doesn't do anything for me.

This trailer exemplifies almost perfectly what gone wrong with the rom-com...
A lame plot, an uncharismatic actress, giving an unconvincing performance plus a whole host of unlikeable bit parts.
The dating scene seems to suck.

Even the wonderful Martin Freeman can't save this, I'm sure.

I really enjoyed the new Sherlock Holmes installment. It is witty, funny and rambunctious. Most fun I've had in a while at the cinemas.
It has only just opened here in Oz so I expect it is still gaining momentum in some places.

I'm still squeeing over the news that Cumberbatch is taking on Trek.

What in the world is she talking about? It's incomprehensible gobbledegook nonsense.

"How do those formulations begin, how do they solidify, calcify, become deficits? How do a person’s strengths become weaknesses? "

"Formulations"? "Calcify"? "Deficits"? Need a thesaurus do we?
Monstrous? Like Hitler, Stalin or one of your friendly neighbourhood S.American dictators? Prone to exaggerations much, are we?

And I'm one of those who don't mind Streep's acting.

I was thinking the exact same thing.

Didn't realise there was an American version of Life on Mars. The UK one was very good.
