It\'s footprint is 9ft wide by 12ft long. Usually 2 friendly horses are comfortable in there. You can extend the length to as long as you want but I wouldn\'t make it any wider than 10 ft or it might not stand up to strong winds. If I had to do it over again I\'d make mine 10\' wide instead of 9\'

To house 5 horses I\'d recomend making at least 2 of these shelters. You could probably \"Cheat\" by making them side by side and sharing 1 wall.

Sorry, mom won't write up a pattern :o( I've been playing with scrap yarn and am working on one myself though. It'll be a while before I perfect it and write it down.

I purchased the yarn and it had acrylic in it. I personally don't add acrylic to the yarns I have milled from my heard. I like adding tencel to my alpaca to have a machine washable yarn. That way it's still all natural fiber.

No compass neccessary. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to face the open ends to the north/south and the closed east/west :o)

Exactly was I was thinking when I finished it. The width and height will easly fit 4x5 round bales stacked 2 on the bottom and one on top just fine. So this 9x12 shed would hold 9 round bales!

To the person who asked about patterns. Sorry my moderation is a little goofed up. The patterns I was using can be found at http://www.squidoo.com/crocheteddolls

I just love twitter and all the alpaca/llama presence around the world on there. If you’ve got a question and need a quick answer you can’t beat the response time. Perfect for those who are in the barn and using their BlackBerry.

I’ve also found twitter very useful for getting in contact with customers as well. There is a HUGE following of fiber artists ranging from hand spinners to knitters. You can’t beat free marketing and its fun to see the projects that artists proudly post links of.

Thanks AlpacaGuy for the mention! Love all the green!
