Interesting proposition you bring up. I think it would have happened regardless - especially when you consider men such as Wycliffe and Hus who are classified as 'pre-Reformers' and really blazed the trail for the Reformers. Further with the rise of the humanist movement and its cry of 'ad fontes' ('to the sources'), it was only a matter of time, humanly speaking', before someone noted that the sources didn't agree with the Roman Catholic system.

That's my take on it, anyway...

Funny you should mention that. I have a blog post coming up in August (scheduled to, anyways) with that coming out. It's actually fairly simple - I just wasn't taught Bible study growing up...
