Part of the 2cd amendment assumes that citizen need to be armed to resist any power that seeks to take away their freedom . I always assumed it was meant to prevent our own government from becoming an active enemy. It has worked so far, but the angst and over-eager attempts over many decades now, by the left to take away the good guys guns, seems to bear out our founders wisdom-not to mention a president who speaks of civilian armys. To be used against who? For what? Why? When? What is it they intend to do to us that these guns are preventing?

Like many, I was too naive to believe such things could never happen - lately - especially after fast and furious, I'm not as confident.
