I wasn't 100% sure when they made it obvious that Loki would again be the bad guy, but if his game is to expose the earth to some kind of apocalypse to hide his real motive, this could be really good. They could even play a sequel off of it by showing someone even more menacing out there becoming aware of us through these actions. That has always been missing from Superman (and will be missing once again with the third appearance of Zod). No villain who made you worry that the good guy could actually lose (or so much could be lost before the victory that it tainted the win with real tragedy). I believe that Wheddon understands this from his previous work, and am really looking forward to this movie.
