That movie was a total crockumentary. They only showed the "good" parts of socialized medicine, not anything else. The wait list for vital surgeries is way longer than it should be. It is not good medicine in any form. People are able to have surgeries within weeks of discovering the need and immediate care that is within hours. Socialized medicine is not able to keep up or keep medical professionals happy, either. How much of the care we are providing goes to people that are obese and have obese-related issues, anyway? They're on Medicaid, Welfare, and food stamps and are still able to put more food on their tables than I can. Not to mention their whining about not having money while they surf the net on their Blackberry. Oh, and don't forget how often they talk about suing previous doctors for malpractice. I've verbally gone off on a few patients about what malpractice lawsuits to do the doctors and the price of health care in general and I am still surprised that I haven't been yelled at by a superior. My parents have had 4 kids with multiple surgeries, my father has fatty tumors that harden and cause pain and need removed, my mother has had vascular surgery on her leg. Even with insurance, the percentage they put out is a killer. But better some coverage than none. I've been uninsured since I was 19 and I'm not complaining. I pay for what I need out of pocket and care for myself homeopathically as best possible. Some folks just don't get it. People used to immigrate from other nations a hundred years ago and work to become like the "average American citizen." My Irish, Polish, German, and American great-grandfathers worked and fought wars alongside each other to make this nation what it had become in its greatness. America was once referred to as a "melting pot." When things honestly melt in pots, sugar, brown sugar, and water for example makes a caramel syrup, the result is something relatively homogeneous. People should not be coming into America and speaking their native tongue and expecting us to learn it to appease them, they should learn our language and use it. America is looking less like a "melting pot" and more like a pot of stew with huge chunks of one flavor here and another flavor there, each fighting to give the most pungent flavor. Welfare here, Legalization of illegals there, "impoverished" here, "privileged" there. They can be proud of where they came from, but I'd prefer that they be even more proud to be American citizens.
