/Film : Early Buzz: The First Review of Bruno

"Currently, the theory of the cosmological history of the Universe most widely accepted by astronomers and astrophysicists today includes an apparent first event, the Big Bang, an expansion of time and space has expanded from a primordial hot and dense initial condition at some finite time in the past. Although contemporary versions of the cosmological argument most typically assume that there was a beginning to the cosmic chain of physical or natural causes, the early formulations of the argument did not have the benefit of this degree of theoretical insight. The Big Bang theory, however, does not address the issue of the origin of the initial condition, so it does not address the issue of a First Cause in an absolute sense." I've quoted to save basically rewriting but that covers my idea and also the fact that it of course proves nothing but that many do hold the belief that The Big Bang was the first cause (And I'm counting the superdense something as the start). I tend to go for the Occam's Razor as God is far and away last on the list of likelyhood. Now as far as provability that really is a moot point as the 'Russell's teapot' argument has shown. That saying that I could say that there is a teapot revolving around the sun but is too small to be seen by telescopes. This is obviously crazy and yet it can't be disproved. In my mind God is just as ridiculous. Out of interest what country are you from? Good debate by the way.

"as for the first cause argument, I just don't see how the Big Bang could be, because it required something." Why could that something not be the big bang?

It is not a leap of logic in my mind, especially not as much as a creator lol There is however no reason that the big bang required something. It could have been the something that put us where we are. Also you say 'if existence does require a creator' I would say that it does not but just because I believe there is not a creator that doesn't disprove him, as you say. That is not necessary though as the science disproves God. I do think by this point though we've reached the point of agreeing to disagree lol

Right a cliche is an overused phrase not something everyone does. Wearing pants is not an overused phrase. Bashing Indy despite it not being that bad is something that is done too often hence I called it a cliche. Your point though was to make an ill advised comment about Hitler which is a TYPICAL overreaction of moviegeeks who think the star wars prequels were a personal raping.

I'll tell you what it brought to the table a fantastic opening night where I got to relive my childhood of Indiana Jones adventures and got to see him 'crusade' again. I may have had blinkers but its 'great legacy in film history' that is mentioned above is exactly why.

To start I called 'Bullio' delusional but in fairness I probably would give that to most that are believers (maybe I am an ass lol). I would say though that The Big Bang and evolution prove without a shadow of a doubt the lack of a God because they are proof of the wonder of the world and nature without need for a 'creator'. The world has grown much like we as humans grow. Baby to adult was nature not creator just as single cell organism to human was nature not creator. I constantly see the 'first cause' argument but what always seems left out is that maybe, just maybe the big bang was the first cause? Maybe not an overlord? But regardless just because it's enough proof for me doesn't mean it is for everyone and I am sure that as we as a society grow religion will die out. And the main point I was making was that we MADE God. We DISCOVERED zero, heliocentricity, quarks, cells, various philosophies, etc. etc. etc. We never discovered God we invented him. I meant with the smidgen thing that was that this is the tip of the iceberg of the debate.

It's a rather tough idea as surely showing anything at all from penetration to the lead character drinking a cup of coffee is there because the director wants us to be led somewhere as a result. Whether we understand why it was done or even if we disagree with what has been done it is all included because it contributes. This can be bad or good but I feel that EVERY time I watch a film I want to see what the director came up with off his own back because I respect the art form.
