Big Journalism : No More Beer Summits: Tea Party 'N-Word' Incident Didn't Happen, And the Congressional Black Caucus

After reading this, it occurred to me...Would it be correct to assume that the word "racist" has become the modern day version of the N-word? It is worth some thought. Would the bystanders in the crowd who are calling Mr. Breitbart a racist during his interview be the equivalent of the accused protesters (had they actually used the N-word) during that Cannon building walk?

Breitbart.com : Georgian luger told dad `I will either win or die'

I was going by a video I saw last night that showed the wall already up and the poles not padded. Here is what I saw. http://www.dalesvideo.com/DSCF4419.JPG It is a picture taken off the tv screen, so sorry for the poor quality. But my reasoning was, why would they pad the poles after the wall was already up? Maybe they padded the poles and then decided to raise the wall (thus un-padding them). I dunno. But I did see other articles referring to the padding as well. But after seeing the video (picture), I just don't know why they would be padded after there is a wall in front of them. Do you understand where I am coming from? - peace - And I agree with you Jenny. This was despicable. :-(

"After the crash, the poles were wrapped in padding and the course was altered to make it slower." This is only half true. The poles were not padded. The wall was heightened in front of the poles to keep lugers from even seeing the poles, much less hitting them. Also, there is a small makeshift memorial to the fallen luger stuck to the non-padded pole. Not very good research.

Big Journalism : A1 to A73 in 24 Hours: The Life and Death of 'Watergate Jr.'

If you are right Andrew (and you probably are), then this story will just fade away in the MSM. And the last thing that the majority of people will remember about it will be the vitriol that the media has already put forth. There will be no retraction. Unfortunately, damage done. I honestly don't see this particular story having enough legs to resurface in the MSM no matter how much the blogshpere rumbles. It was never a big deal to the masses like ACORN was. I hope I am wrong. And you can ask my wife, I am wrong a lot. So anything is possible. I am just not holding my breath on this one. (Unless you can dig up a juicy COUNTER-plot. Now THAT would be sweet.)

Wow. I don't think that I have read an article about the media and Palin that can compare. VERY well done.

Big Hollywood : Rearranging the Deck Chairs on the Titanic

Ma'am WAS a nice touch. And I, being a former Vick fan (I have a framed signed jersey up in my attic that I hope to sell to some sap someday) that felt wronged and cheated by his actions, I feel like I am able to accept or decline his apology (albeit on a lower tier than the dogs who were his direct victims, and his former employer and those who were directly affected by his crimes). And I have taken this approach for the matter. I have given Vick the same opportunity that I would give to any ex-con. If you have served your time that was appointed to you buy the justice system and seem to show some change, you will be given a second chance. BUT that second chance will be on a VERY short leash (pun intended). "Mistakes" and "poor judgment" will not be tolerated. Will I root for him? No. But will I root for him to be injured or for the defensive linemen to "have at him?" Also no. Will I wish him to have to brush his teeth with a toothbrush used to scrub kennels? Absolutely not, because that kind of thought is just as reprehensible, maybe worse, than Vick's. The biggest testament, to me, about giving Michael Vick a conditional second chance came when I heard the head of the Humane Society, the same ones who had gathered evidence and had fought so hard to put Vick behind bars, speak out positively about traveling with Vick to speak to inner city youth about the evils of dog fighting. This man had more at stake than any of us would in the matter, and he was convinced. Well, I reserve the right not to be convinced. And I am not. But on the same token, I will be tolerant in this matter, and I will watch with a judgmental eye.
