Thank you Moochelle Obama: Now the Federal Food police are inspecting your child's school lunch and forcing a school lunch on the child if they do not deem your home-made lunch "healthy enough." And here I thought we lived in America.
HillBuzz.org : How Hard Is It To Get A Photo ID In Your State?

From the GA.gov website: Any person that is old enough to sign their name, or make a mark indicating their legal signature can apply to the DDS for a identification card. You must provide acceptable proof of identification. You can apply for an identification card if your Georgia driver license is suspended or revoked. You do not have to surrender a Georgia identification card when you get a Georgia driver license or your Georgia driver license is reinstated. A identification card contains the same personal information, photo, signature and special protection against alteration and fraud as a driver license. The cost of the Identification Card is $20.00 for 5 years or $32 for a card valid 8 years. All documents must be in English. Click here Translator List to locate an approved document translation company. Applicant must furnish proof that he or she resides in Georgia and must provide a valid Georgia residence address. The following items are acceptable: Utility bill issued within the last 60 days; Bank statement issued within the last 60 days; Current valid rental contracts and/or receipts for payments made within the last sixty (60) days for rent payments; Employer verification, including, but not limited to, one of the following: Paycheck or paycheck stub Letter from employer or W-2 for current or preceding calendar year Non-expired Georgia driver's license, permit or identification card issued to parent, child, guardian, or spouse; Health insurance statement; State of Georgia or Federal income tax return for current or preceding calendar year; Annual social security statement for current or preceding calendar year; Medicare or Medicaid statement School record or transcript for current or preceding calendar year; Mortgage, payment coupon, deed, or property tax bill for current or preceding calendar year Applicants who are U.S Citizens must surrender all previous driver's licenses, identification cards, and instructional permits to DDS. Non-citizen applicants may retain their foreign-issued license, instructional permits, or identification card unless applying for a commercial license or instructional permit. If the customer is not able to surrender a license, instructional permit, or ID card, the customer must provide a certified copy of a Motor Vehicle Report or status letter from the previous state or foreign jurisdiction. First time applicants for a Georgia identification card must show some acceptable form of personal identification that includes full name, month, day and year of birth. After verification of full name and date of birth, documents will be returned immediately to the licensee. The following items are acceptable but must be Original or a Certified Copy: Original birth certificate (State issued, Hospital birth certificates are not acceptable). Certified copy of birth certificate (Issued from Vital Statistics with affixed seal) Certificate of birth registration Certified copy of court records (adoption, name changes or sex changes.) Certified naturalization records Immigration I.D. card Valid Passport If your name has changed from your original birth record, you must present official certified documents supporting the name change, including but not limited to: Marriage license, marriage certificate or marriage license application Please note; by law, same sex marriage certificates cannot be accepted for name changes. Divorce decree Adoption Legal name change Amended birth certificate Anyone applying for a Georgia identification card must provide a social security number at the time of issuance. It is not necessary to have your original social security card. However, penalties will occur if an incorrect social security number is provided. Any customer who is not eligible to obtain a Social Security Number must provide a letter of ineligibility for a Social Security number (Form SSAL 676). U.S. citizens must furnish proof of citizenship. Non-U.S. citizens must present proper immigration documentation. Documents presented must be either in English or translated into English by a translator approved by the Department of Driver Services. We have required Voter ID in order to vote for several years. I have lived in GA for 9 years and have ALWAYS been required to provide ID. I believe that anyone who argues that requiring ID is racist, is someone who assumes that black people are either: 1) Too stupid to be able to go to a Drivers' License office 2) Too illiterate to read the instructions on how to get an ID card 3) Incapable of transacting ANY kind of business in the course of their lives, including cashing a check or applying for welfare (which requires ID) In my opinion, anyone who believes these things is, themselves, RACIST! When a state has Voter ID laws, which were enacted to prevent fraud, people who care enough to vote will care enough to have ID. People who object to these laws support voter fraud.

Big Hollywood : Television's Demographic Scam: Bamboozled Advertisers Could Learn Something From Madonna, NFL

You make a good point there. I can't tell you the number of commercials I see where I find myself thinking "What in the heck was THAT about?" My kids tell me that I am NOT the demographic the advertiser is after. Apparently these nonsensical commercials make sense to them. But let's look at the ads shown during the Super Bowl. As I recall, there were a TON for various kinds of expensive cellphones. People my age do not stand in line at the Best Buy to be the first to buy the newest cellphone. Then there are all the beer ads. I look forward to the new beer ads because they are often pretty funny. But I don't really buy much beer - although males 18 - 49 buy a heck of a lot of it. Movie ads. Hmmm, I don't plan to see ANY of the stupid movies that were advertised during the Super Bowl - although I bet males 18-49 will be. So what advertising WOULD work on me? I liked the Doritos ads. I thought they were really clever, especially the one with the dog. Made me want a bag of Doritos. I like the VW ads a LOT. Very clever. That's pretty much it.

HillBuzz.org : KOMENIZE: The Tolerant Left Invents New Word to Celebrate Its Perceived Victory for Abortion

Maybe I'm naive, but is the Susan G. Komen Foundation somehow OBLIGATED to provide Planned Parenthood with funding? I thought charitable foundations could spend their money any way they want to, as long as the spending is in keeping with the stated purpose of the foundation. The Komen Foundation could have just decided to take the money they had previously given to PP and used it to fund another breast cancer research or treatment center, and say "Sorry, PP, we don't have money for everyone and, after all, it's such a miniscule portion of your overall funding, you won't even miss it." Was this just a massive public relations debacle on someone's part at Komen? All I know is all of my "Progressive" friends and acquaintances are delighting in the Komen Foundation backing down on this decision, which was absolutely their right to make! They really do see this as a huge victory for the baby-killing crowd.

HillBuzz.org : Willard Romney Stars as "Flipper"

This is why I hate politics. Politicians will say anything to get elected. So few have any integrity. Now we see outspoken pundits like Ann Coulter, who has the freedom to say pretty much anything she wants, talking Romney down, until her guy decides not to run, and now she talks everyone else down, saying Romney is the only one who can win. Makes me wonder who got to her, or what she's been paid. I used to enjoy Ann Coulter and think she had brains, integrity and humor. Now I'm sorry to see that I was wrong.

HillBuzz.org : Charybdis in Deep Trouble: Oprah's Weird Noises (OWN) Network Cutting Longtime Staffers in Desperate

The other thing about that publicity stunt - dreamed up by Pontiac's marketing people, NOT Queen Oprah - is that these idiots (and apparently a whole lot of other people in America) genuinely thought Oprah bought all of those cars herself to give away. It was a promotional gimmick to launch the Pontiac G6 model, for heaven's sake. I don't think it worked, 'cause I rarely saw a G6 driving around, but that's all it was. It was NOT a generous gesture from Oprah's heart.

So do ya think Romney has promised Marco Rubio the VP slot? He sure is getting vocal in his support for Romney. Does anyone know if there has been a resolution to the question of whether Rubio is eligible for the Presidency, ie, his "natural born citizen" status? Or has Obama's presidency made that point moot from here on out? http://www.nationaljournal.com/2012-presidential-...

The other day Rush was saying that he thinks a lot of people are voting for Newt in the primaries to send a message to the Cocktail Party that we will NOT accept another RINO candidate for President. I hope they wake up soon! I'm not crazy about Newt. I think he's just a politician who will say anything to get elected, and his beliefs change with the wind. Too bad, because he's a very smart, albeit arrogant, man.

Neal Boortz was talking about this on his show last week. He said he has known Newt extremely well for decades (both having worked in GA and Newt has been a substitute host on Neal's radio show). Anyway, Boortz said that the ethics complaints had NO basis in fact, that he ended up "pleading" to one of them to make them go away, and paid the fine etc. The IRS didn't find anything either. But you will NEVER hear the media report this broadly because it doesn't fit their "kill Newt - Nominate Romney" agenda.

Considering that empty platitudes are what got him elected the first time, why wouldn't he resort to them now? What grinds me is that the electorate is stupid enough to buy into them! Of course, I am also greatly dismayed that the Republican Party cannot field a candidate who is awesome and conservative and assured to take Obama down! Honestly, their backup plan is Mitch Daniels????? Didn't he drop out of the running early because he did't have enough support?

You've never heard of Lean Six Sigma? It's a quality/efficiency program that's been all the rage in American business for over 10 years. Based on Deming's work in Japan. It started in manufacturing, but now companies in all lines of business have adopted it. Frankly, in pretty much every company I've worked for that went all gung ho on Six Sigma it never really made much difference, but I think the principles lend themselves more to some businesses than others. Anyway, bottom line, the Federal Government, where they DESPERATELY need to get more efficient, will NEVER adopt a system that will make them so.

Did anyone else see the article in Bloomberg this morning that the person who will benefit MOST from Obama's Keystone Pipeline Decision is Obama's good buddy Warren Buffet. Buffet bought the BNSF railroad in 2009 and took it private, so it's his own little (huge, actually) railroad now. If the U.S doesn't build the pipeline, Bufffet will be transporting all of that oil by rail instead. That plus some oil fields in North Dakota that Buffet is apparently also a partner in, and that oil will also be transported by rail to the refineries in Texas. My, my, my, no cronyism here... Wonder what Obama's eventual payoff will be from this decision????? I also find it interesting that I read that Bloomberg post this morning, but when I tried the link again so I could post it here, they've pulled the story and a search of their website does not bring it back up.

Good question, but no. The way the program works is the union member buys the house for the current HUD asking price. They get a first mortgage for 1/2 of the purchase price, and HUD creates a second mortgage for the other 1/2. If they live in the house for 3 years, the HUD loan is forgiven. I don't think they have to make payments on the HUD mortgage during the first 3 years. So let's say you find a HUD home you want to buy that is listed for $100K. You will have a first mortgage of $50K on which you will make payments of around $240 per month. The home will also have a 2nd lien of $50K. You won't have to make payments on that, but if you sell the house in the first 3 years you have to pay back the whole $100K, less the value of the payments you've made.
