If that is what you believe, then you will likely find more people who think like you on a religious blog than a non-religious blog. But again, if you understood evolution (and not just the anti-evolution talking points) you would realize every species is merely a "transitional one" as that is exactly how it works. Again, it is a gradual process of change over time, not a series of steps with some sort of half-one species, half-another as you are implying (otherwise the duck-billed platypus is exhibit A...which it is not). Another misconception anti-evolutionists keep stumbling over...evolution doesn't rely on the fossil record solely for it's evidence, which these people would know if they understood evolution. Fossils aren't the end all argument for evolution and biology, despite what the countless non-scientific books with agendas claim, has more than enough evidence in favor of evolution regardless of fossils. Fossils just strengthen the already overwhelming evidence of evolution, as does many other sciences. You are missing the bigger picture when you concentrate on such a minor detail, and it shows the naivete present when these arguments are brought forth. You might as well play the "evolution is just a theory" card.
How this is still a debate in America is beyond me. I find people trying to find physical evidence for their "faith" contradictory. Doesn't it defeat the point when people have to validate faith with evidence? Isn't faith supposed to be deeper than just surface proof? My friend, you either have faith or you don't. If you are looking for evidence to have faith, then I suspect your faith is already gone and it is a matter of coming to terms with it. Stick around this blog, the people here can help you.
Gaps? If you understood evolution in the first place you would know that evolution isn't a series of steps along the way with some sort of missing step, but a fluid system of change over time. If you think it takes "faith" to understand evolution, you are missing the point.
I've been reading! I just don't have the time (due to moving, baby, etc) to blog and work at building and maintaining the great audience I had. Not to mention I killed way too many hours blogging. I thought about it part-time, but the work that goes into even a solo part-time gig just eats up the little personal time I have after work.
I am more shocked that they have decided to use their Holy book for such attacks. One would think they would have more respect for their own scripture. Shows how much faith these band wagoners truly have.
PS...sorry I've been off the blogs for so long, I just moved from Japan to Libya and had a baby in the mean time, so life has been hectic! I'll make sure to keep dropping in now.
I know, I know! Not to mention the horrible internet in this country, I have been way too busy having a baby, buying a house, and with the new assignment to even follow politics a little! Excuses I know.
Not yet. I am still training in DC living out of a suitcase and a hotel...it sucks, but could be a lot worse. At least this is an awesome city. Another month or so and I will have the time to jump back into the blogging world.
Well said. I wish more conservatives could see it your way.
Well, Obama will have a gay-friendly Congress on his side when he eventually sacks up and makes the "change". Clinton was screwed by having to negotiate his principles with the Congress (as the introduction to the paper states).
Nice, I love seeing the hypocrisy. It affects both sides to be sure, but for some reason the GOP is redefining the concept.
Okinawa ni sundeimasu. Totemo iitokoro des. Lol. I had to have both translated for me as I don't speak Japanese. I am a foreign service officer with the Dept of State. Dream job by all accounts, though I am off to Libya in July! So, needless to say, my blog and feed reader are being neglected! But my Arabic will at least be a touch better!
