It's unfortunate that our country's petty partisanship has brought us to the point that we call people "warm bodies" based upon the (R) next to their name. As far as I can tell, she's devoted her life to healthcare and public service; she has a Ph.D. in holistic care and a small business dedicated to supporting cancer survivors. I don't know everything about Ms. Hilliard, but I do know that she deserves far more respect than you've just shown.

The real story here is that the Federal government has continued its legacy of pointless and destructive eminent domain seizures. Stupa or not, petroglyphs or not, eminent domain is simply the politically correct term for stealing a family's home at the point of a gun.

And for what greater good do we perpetrate this injustice? So that the Parks Service can create the illusion of wilderness - carefully contained by handrails and auto loops - a monument to the people we've chased off those lands from 1800 to 2010.

The NPS is just one of many three letter thugs that have overrun this country with misguided good intentions; if only the people could see the forest through the trees.

Peter Schiff ain't out of it yet ... he's your principled newcomer, if only he can make it to the primaries.

Tsk, tsk.

The first sentence of the article reads: "My objection to Fair Trade isn’t a libertarian objection" ... you would be hard pressed to find a Libertarian who wouldn't assert that Fair Trade is a consensual contract between two parties, the essence of Liberty.

For those who continue reading, it becomes clear that the author is arguing that externally imposed Fair Trade doesn't work ... not that stable, steady, fair markets aren't a worthwhile goal. His argument seems to have some shortcomings, but these have no bearing on the fact that your portrayal is disingenuous.

Careful with your attacks on the LP ... you know I'm watching closely.

Seems that a man who built an 8 billion dollar business, revolutionized an industry, pioneered mainstream organics / fair-trade, and did so while capping his salary at 17 times mean pay should probably get our respect. If I judged my friends based upon two isolated political topics, I wouldn't have any, which wouldn't be so great.

That said, adding some context to purchasing decisions is probably a good thing and I guess this is some people's cause.

I've recently switched to Elevations Credit Union (available to any Boulder residents). It took at most 1.5 hours from the moment of inspiration to changing out my last direct deposit and they even printed my debit card on the spot. I was most concerned with ATM availability, which they apparently have covered for free through a nationwide network of credit unions.

As for the website ... it's just as functional and friendly as Wells Fargo. Two thumbs up.

I respect Mackey for his contribution to American health and global fair trade. I respect his health care views for offering alternate solutions, not blind opposition.

His resignation is probably best for the company because many people don't share these views. What's sad is that it's likely bad for us because his replacement will be less attuned to the LOHAS community. Thanks for the interesting take, Waylon.

Hmmm ... I'm pretty sure this video is the problem, not the answer.

The speaker seems to have no clue that this is a 300 year old, well-countered theory (Pascal's Gambit) and does little justice to the explanation by filling it with false dichotomies, false assumptions, undefined variables and a drastically dumbed down attempt to address weighted probabilities.

His terse treatment of the topic really isn't so bad ... except when one considers that 8 million people have listened to his "inescapable" conclusion ... and god only knows how many many have accepted it, naively believing that world policy for the two most complex systems known to man (economy and environment) should be shaped by a high school science teacher with a dry erase marker and a philosophy for dummies book.

Now, don't get me wrong ... the environment is one of the biggest issues of our day and YouTube offers some great opportunities to spread interest through either propaganda or education pieces. However, this mix of the two seems like just the type of thing to arm a dangerously misinformed public with a false sense of certainty, which is the ultimate tool of partisan politics.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful morning and happy holiday.
