Watch Egypt? Watching them is fine, but don't expect much. They are plenty sandbagged. The hot spot is Syria, with Iran a strong and negative influence. Russia and China both have interests in seeing them continue to be a headache to the conscience of rest of the world, or the West, if you will. America has its own loose cannon there too. I'd love to see Israel extract a toll on Russia and China for their dealings in the region.

I don't see how this affirms your comment. There are a lot of different indicators, with ambiguous results from Jan to Feb. But look at the summary headlines: Expansion Continues to Gain Momentum Employment Grows Modestly Six-Month Outlook Remains Upbeat I don't think I'm wearing rose tinted lenses here to say that all sounds net positive.

Maybe I missed something. Here's what the article lays out, stat wise. But the sector has shown more vitality in recent months, bolstering Obama's case. Manufacturers added 50,000 jobs in January, the most in a year, and added 237,000 jobs in 2011, the largest annual boost since 1997. Of the 3.2 million jobs added by the economy since February 2010, about 400,000 are in manufacturing. Hopefully we can cultivate this ray of sunshine into a lot more of the same.
