Big Hollywood : Hollywood Sells Its Soul to China's Censors

In a sort of tangent, the future "president" of China is here in the states, and he visited with our humble Comrade Obama. It was overheard that Obama asked the Chinese leader if he brought his check book.

Drew Barrymore is good looking enough, but she's a horrible actor. Any movie she's in should be a tip not to watch it.

Lance Armstrong? He'd rather support an organization that prefers to end life rather than an organization that fights cancer to prolong life? Whhhhaaatt? Looks like some of Sheryl Crow rubbed off on him. Then again, he is from Austin.

Big Hollywood : 'Modern Family' Stokes Non-Controversy Over F-Bomb

"ABC’s “Modern Family” represents the very best of the current broadcast television lineup. Smart scripts. Singularly great characters. Big laughs buffeted by an array of smaller ones." You could not have summed this show more INCORRECTLY! There are no laughs, stupid scripts, cliche "mock-umentary" asides. This is one of the worst shows on TV.

Big Hollywood : A Student's-Eye View of Center Stage Liberalism

I went to a play at my local college (of which I'm an alumnus) this past summer, and while I thought the cast did a good job, the play itself was total "socialist garbage." It was called An Inspector Calls, written by an English socialist playwright J. B. Priestly. I thought the play was going to be a pleasant murder mystery until I heard the industrialist defend his business and his wealth, then I knew it was going to take a turn for worst. The play was written in the 1940s and is set in the days before the outbreak of WWI. A mysterious police inspector comes to the house of aforementioned wealthy industrialist as he and his family celebrate the nuptials of his daughter and a close friend of the family. The inspector says a girl has died, then proceeds to question each member of the family, as each member of the family has contact with the deceased girl. Each contact proved to be harmful to the girl to the point where she takes her own life. That synopsis may sound harmless, but the moral of this story is that this rich industrialist family should have done everything they could to make the girl's life not as hard as it was. You know, the old collectivist mantra of live your life for the benefit of others.

Big Hollywood : Daily Call Sheet: Van Halen Unites, Colorization Is Evil, and the Next Christmas Classic

Colorization is the work of the devil, aka Ted Turner, who bought up a lot of the old B/W movies and started colorizing them. As much as the government is intruding on our lives, a total ban on colorization would still get my full support!

First of all, Modern Family is not funny at all. The dialogue is not funny and those mock-umentary cut-aways are cliche. Might I suggest, for the Right, a sitcom called 2 Broke Girls. Although it's co-created by the lovely but ueber-liberal Whiteny Cummings, the show is about two less-than-wealthy waitresses who work toward earning enough money to put a down payment on a cupcake shop. One of them, Max, has always worked hard for the little that she has, and continues to work hard, and doesn't complain that she is owed something. The other, Caroline, is a fallen heiress whose father is imprisoned for embezzling millions from the city. Both of them are using hard work and *gasp* capitalism to improve their lot in life. Worth a watch.

Big Hollywood : What Shoulda Won? 1998 Academy Awards

Apparently I am the only one to say this so far, but There's Something About Mary was and is one of the worst, WORST, movies of all times. It was not funny at all and the acting was terrible. Matt Dillon was horrible, and it's a good thing Bret Favre was a good QB because he wasn't an actor. In Saving Private Ryan, the only thing to watch was the invasion scene. After that, not so much. And I can't emphasize enough how much Mary sucked!

The only reason I watched American Beauty was for the hot cheerleader. Being John Malkovich was boring, aweful, and awefully boring. Of the above list, I would have voted for Election. I think it did win for best screenplay.

Big Hollywood : Top 10 Thanksgiving Moments in TV and Film

In the Everybody Loves Raymond episode referred to in this piece, it's Marie (the Barone matriarch) who suggests they dine on tofurkey, not Debra. In Planes, it's not only the hilarious escapes of our duo that makes the movie wonderful, it's also the fact that eventually we learn that Candy's character's wife had died, and Martin's character takes him in to have Thanksgiving with his family. Brilliant.

This show is awesome, and I really enjoy watching it. Although every time Jim Caviezel speaks, I can't help but think of Christian Bale's mumbling Batman/Dark Knight.
