Funny you mention that. I just got an email from the PageManager folks saying that they think the OCR thing might be a bug and they are sending it to their technical people.

That being said, it doesn't bother me too much because I'd just have the ScanSnap software do the OCRing for me anyways.

Sorry Rudrani, I really don't have much of an idea other than, instead of scanning to Evernote directly, you scan to a folder, rename, and THEN send it to Evernote. Not ideal but it's all I can think of off the top of my head.

So let's say you search a 100 page PDF for the word \"bunny\", and the word \"bunny\" appears on 5 pages. You'd want the action to kick out a 5-page PDF, with just the entire content of just those 5 pages?

I'm the same way. Pretty much everything I read is digital now. Funny how much has changed since I originally posted that article.

I read the Steve Jobs book in paper form, and it was actually kinda weird reading a paper book again.

I haven't tried this myself, but you can apparently scan to PaperPort using the ScanSnap Manager software.

Wow, that definitely sounds like way too few scans to be having that problem. Normally I'd say it is a problem with the pick roller or the pad assy, which you can replace. (http://scansnapcommunity.com/tips-tricks/306-replacing-your-scansnap-consumables/) but it may be worth hitting up ScanSnap support to see what they have to say.

Hi Ron, that should be it. CrashPlan's client software should then connect to the CrashPlan software on your laptop (assuming there are no firewall issues), find it, and then the backup should start over the network or Internet.

Not a stupid question at all. There are a bunch of tools to do that, but the way I do it is pretty low-tech. I open up the searchable PDF in Preview (or on Windows, Acrobat Reader), go Edit > Select All (or select the part I want), then Copy, then paste into a text editor.
