One Bronco Nation Under God (OBNUG) : AP poll respects Broncos; USA Today not as much

Good point, JH. I, too, am a little cheesed about that. Also, I think it's great to see so much respect for Utah, beating out Texas and USC for the #2 spot. Herbstreit and Mayes are having kittens about right now.

One Bronco Nation Under God (OBNUG) : Bowl Pick 'Em update: Three entries left standing

I just can't believe how bad I'm doing in this darn pick 'em! How could so many better teams get bamboozled by lesser teams? Ok, next year's my year. I can feel it. I'm just going to go against my gut from now on. It sounds to me that the OBNUG intern just looked over Kevan's picks and picked the exact opposite. That may be the way to go!

If only... If only Ellis Powers had caught one of those two interceptions he had thrown directly to him... If only the holding penalty hadn't been called while Ian ran to the endzone... If only Brontzman hadn't missed that field goal... If only we didn't false start like 10 times on one drive... If only Byron Hout could have finished off that wacky interception/heisman caliber run with a touchdown... If only Kellen hadn't of thrown a Zabransky on first and ten with 1:50 left... Alas, it was not meant to be. All of these "if onlys" will just feed the fire for next year's team to get even better.

One Bronco Nation Under God (OBNUG) : An open letter to the 2008 Broncos

This 2008 team really surprised me too. I was blown away by how much our defense had improved in just one offseason! These guys play angry and make other teams (mostly QBs) suffer heartily for every score. And most of those scores have come from the offense being clumsy or making mistakes... Kellen Moore has been better than I could have imagined (and I imagined quite a bit). Thanks to Ian Johnson also for not only the memories, but for picking it up a notch these last few games. What a way to go out! Thanks Boise State!

One Bronco Nation Under God (OBNUG) : This date in history: only the worst bowl game ever

Not so. Sure BYU is a private Latter-day Saint university, but I know many LDS folks that are as anti BYU as myself. It wasn't always so-for example, I grew up right by the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs and we'd always go to the games and root for BYU to smother Air Force. Now that I think about it, I think it was the Gary Crowten (spelling?) era that turned me off to BYU football. That, and my in-laws introduced me to Boise State. I went to that BYU-BSU game in 2004 when the BYU kicker whiffed that field goal from the 20 yard line that would have won the game. That was the turning point in my fan-dom. BYU is a great school with a good football team, but don't believe that all LDS folks like BYU. Just look at the BYU-Utah rivalry. Most of those Utah fans are LDS and they would pay money to watch BYU players and coaches get fed to tigers and grizzly bears. Anyways, that's my story. There are tons of LDS people that would take BSU over BYU any day.

Being an active Mormon, I know Joseph Smith would have been a BSU fan. He was a really strong guy and might have been a linebacker if he hadn't been a prophet (and if he had been alive when football was invented). I also think he would have been all over Chris Johnson in the Hawaii bowl like white on rice, baby.

Kevan, I am an optimist at heart, but the thing is, that "spit blood" website has got me all discombobulated. I mean, they make it sound like TCU should be ranked first and has no flaws... In other words, they're a lot like OBNUG, just PG-13/R rated (and TCU) I really just need to watch my DVDs of Boise State dismantling WAC opponents to clear my head.

I like the score, but unfortunately, I think it's going to be a nail-biter all the way to the finish. I'm going with 20-17 BSU. I see Ian getting the record with a short TD run. I see Kellen throwing 1 TD, 1 pic

Kellen Moore will, in the future, have his sights set on a certain other honor called the Heisman. Who cares about WAC awards. Let the rest of the WAC worry about them since BSU is far above their petty awards.

good call ghandsman. Yeah, Vinny is a stud. Fresno's scoring is contingent on whether or not Hamdan sees his mom in the crowd giving away his favorite home-baked christmas cookies to another Bronco fan just as he's about to release the rock

Good call on Ian getting his hundred. I think he gets two TDs to go along with that, hopefully more. Vinny Peretta throws a 60 yard TD 6 different seniors score Kellen Moore throws a bunch of TDs, hands the reigns over to Hamdan at halftime. Mike T Williams eats Tom Branstater I fall asleep on a triptophan high BSU 56 FSU 7 FSU scores off an intercepted Hamdan throw.
