Man, talk about coming out swinging! Congratulations. Funny, the MSM has been tossing softballs at these asshats so long that they've become all soft and squishy. Then you guys fire a fastball and it goes SPLAT and makes a big, sticky mess. It's almost too easy. Thanks for showing us how it's done! Big X.

Big Hollywood : Debunking the Great Debunker: ObamaCare Covers Illegals

Actually, no. It's not free for illegals. The legislation forbids Federal payment of premium subsidies to illegals. In other words, they pay the full premium. Which sounds fine until you factor in the dynamic of "adverse selection." In other words, say Uncle Zvetco is paying $4,000 a month out of his pocket for prescription drugs, and say the premium for ObamaCare is $200 a month, then Uncle Zvetco is going to sign up for ObamaCare. Cousin Helga, though, is only 22 and healthy as a horse, so she'll skip ObamaCare and spend her $200 a month on manicures, cigarettes and cable TV. That is, until her ass-hat boyfriend, Vlad, knocks her up. Then she'll sign up for ObamaCare to pay for the $15,000 delivery. This is why pre-existing conditions ar not covered by insurance companies--not to be "meanies," but to protect the interests of their policyholders (the fund) from fraud and abuse. However, to the modern liberal Democrat, protecting honest taxpayers takes a very distant back seat to protecting all those poor uninsured "victims" out there. Big X

Big Hollywood : The Consequence of 'Come On, It's Just Pot'

The photograph is chilling. Reminds me of February 14, 1929, when seven men were similarly murdered in a Lincoln Park garage, victims of another drug cartel, this one run by Al Capone. Prohibition was repealed in 1933, and cheap, readily available, high quality booze forced crime syndicates into other lines of vice, and the bloodshed stopped.

When people like Bill Maher say, "Americans are stupid," what they're really saying is, "I'm terribly smart, as is anyone who agrees with me." Without common sense and a moral compass, intelligence is vastly overrated.

Big Hollywood : Fans Flock to Mourn California, 1849-2009

I'm a third generation legacy member of the California fan club. I'm proud to say my grandfather, Val, played cowbell on the "Post-War Real Estate Boom" sessions. The recent accusations of malfeasance have been depressing, as was California's final cause of death. So humiliating... But, then, Cali has long suffered bouts of clinical depression, and would have shot itself years ago if its management hadn't taken away all its guns. X.

Big Hollywood : Politics Plays Hell With Your Poetry

Odd, how many of my true-life exploits find their way into the public lexicon in the form of jokes. For instance, I remember I was once seated next to Bess Truman at a White House dinner-party. They were just serving dessert (Baked Alaska, as I recall, though it may have been Crêpes Suzette--I'm not sure as I'd had quite a lot to drink) when I asked the First Lady if I could possibly smell her female nether-regions (although, as I said, I was fairly corked and might very well have employed a, shall we say, more indelicate euphemism). She threw me a real stink-eye and huffed, "Certainly not!" to which I deftly rejoined, "Oh. Then it must be your feet!" - Big-X out.

I once escorted Miss Montenegro to one of U2's concerts, and boy was that a shocker! What a pleasure it was to see that Mr. Bono had finally shaved off that ridiculous soup-strainer and given the heave-ho to the flea-bitten fur vest he favored in the 1960s (along with that sad-sack beatnik wife of his). And, yes, he did occasionally indulge in some political rhetoric between their pop-ditties. At one point, he requested silence. then started clapping his hands in a very striking, measured syncopation. "Every time I clap my hands," he said in that odd Paddywhack brogue (Lord only knows where he picked that up; I always thought he was a Dago), "a child in Africa dies." To which I shouted, "THEN STOP CLAPPING, FOR PETE'S SAKE! - Big-X out.
