Here's what amazes me about this, 'the most transparent administration in history'...

What other administration could you open a discussion board on, and with nearly every single entry on the thread, another scandal is enumerated, scandals of such import that they would have sunk any other admin that didn't have a willing and submissively obedient national media to cover for it?

This is truly an historic administration, for all the wrong reasons!

That's horrendous, @movintothefarm, just a sorry state of affairs to read about! Your story just illustrates my first axiom of modern life, post '60s; when you give little mean-spirited people a little bit of discretionary power, more often than we'd care to know, that is what they'll do with it.

And even worse to contemplate is the notion that, if ' little o' decided he wanted to make a play for declaring martial law in America, that loose cannon cop from Jefferson County would be one of the first lining up for an automatic weapon from the armory.

Yes, the little ones with the ominous briefcase are always the more effective... The drawback with using your man-mountain ex-Marine is they'd be itching to use their tasers at the first sign of menace, which would end up being a hand raised too quickly to wipe sweat from his brow, or reaching into his pocket for something.

The real problem is that they give too much discretionary power to the wrong people, oftentimes, it goes to their heads, and then you get a circus case like a Rodney King beatdown. All because small people got a little taste of power. Fortunately they've been in the minority, usually, 'though they seem to be increasing.

I see people, mostly men in unmarked vehicles, with all the hidden lights and all, but who are obviously desk jockeys for all that, pulling people over all the time in my town / city here in Florida. The extended LEO presence is a good thing, don't get me wrong, but here's where the little people/little power meme comes into play.

This just shows to go ya, if (strike that, when)you get a frantic call from a neighbor about the local law jackbooting around your property, call your attorney before you do anything else! and try to have that person meet you at your property.

Otherwise, you'll be treated like this poor woman, threatened, intimidated, sneered at and not even allowed to see to the welfare of the animals in the crosshairs.
